Brody Miller on Joe Brady

“On Brady and recruiting, one #LSU staffer said:
“He was always ranking the board and watching the film. Just didn’t enjoy the communication aspect and all the teenager shenanigans.””
Listen, I’m just as sad as everyone else that Joe Brady left to return to the NFL. But at the end of the day the guy did not like recruiting. And if you’re going to be successful in college football, long-term, you have to recruit. Call it rationalizing if you want to but I think this would have been problematic down the road. As much as it sucks to put up with teenage kids and their wishy-washy behavior, you have to play that game to get them to sign the dotted line.
If they promote Jorge Munoz and bring Frank Wilson back, those that say we no longer have a shot at Caleb Williams are wrong. We just have to circle the wagons and put someone else on him. All we need to do is convince him that the offense will not change moving forward. We just won’t have one of the great minds anymore.

He got us a natty. Forever a tiger. We will likely never see this type of production at LSU again.

He's Aranda, I can tell Aranda don't enjoy recruiting, they just wanna coach.

Brady, Burrow, and supporting cast were just a perfect storm to put up those numbers. I was really curious how Brady would have adjusted when he didn't have a QB with NFL accuracy and NFL mental ability.

Aranda keys in on a few linebackers a year and goes all out on them. I don’t blame Brady not wanting to deal with teenagers especially in the social media era.

Can’t blame him. I get frustrated just following recruiting. Can’t imagine actually talking to these children
It takes a special person to have that kind of understanding and patience.

100%. Having Brady was huge for helping the offense evolve, but he wouldn't have happened without Burrow, Clyde, Thad, etc. Just because you run some revolutionary offense doesn't mean shite without the Jimmys and Joes.

Munoz was the guy Caleb Williams was around the most when he visited so I’d say they are in good shape there.

To be fair, this statement stands w or without Brady

Most have said the offense was not really anything really new or crazy. What made it so good was that LSU had the perfect personnel to execute it to perfection. Joe made the right call almost all the time, the WR's win 1v1, and Clyde's skill set was perfect.

Only thing LSU fans should be saying about joe Brady is “thank you for your service”

Same. It would not be something I would enjoy doing. I would have a hard time compartmentalizing the job and not getting emotionally attached to players and their families all while knowing that I am more than likely doing the same to some other kid and his family.
There is no way I could detach myself like that and still feel good when I woke-up in the morning.

Well he was in on a lot of great prospects for a guy that didn’t like to recruit

Wait until his career is in the hands of a highly paid QB who acts like an irresponsible teenager. Let's see how he likes that.

He had previously expressed a desire to get back to the NFL, which is why the extension he signed had the option to get out it if the right opportunity came along. Some NFL teams had been sniffing around when Brady signed that extension, but none posed the right opportunity. Then Carolina came along with a really lucrative offer, but they also provided a good opportunity for Brady to run his offense. They have arguably the best all-around RB in MCCaffery, a couple of young rising stars at WR in Moore and Samuel, backed by veteran WR’s Hogan and Wright, and a couple of good TE’s in Olson and Ian Thomas. That’s a lot of solid weapons at Brady’s disposal. They have a pretty solid OL. The biggest question mark is at QB, where I don’t think Cam will ever get his shot together, but they have a couple of other options that could be good with a little development in Allen and Grier, who both got playing time with Cam out last season. They also have pick #7 in this year’s QB heavy draft, and several mock drafts have them taking a QB in the first round. Having a solid group of players everywhere but QB, they could even bundle a bunch of their picks in this draft to swap positions with the Bengals and get the first pick in the draft and use it to take Burrow. That is feasible and would be a smart move for both teams. Bengals have a lot of needs, they could take one of the other QB’s to be Dalton’s successor, and use the extra picks to fill the many holes they have.
I think this may be why Brady took this offer. I am a Saints fan forever, but Brady going the Panthers will make them a much tougher foe, especially if they pull off that trade for the top pick and get Joe.

Right we just have to have a good offense.
Personal relationships are one thing. Putting guys into NFL jobs is another.

I can see him not liking recruiting after this latest cycle. LSU had several high profile guys said they were coming to LSU, LSU tells a few kids who committed to LSU to look elsewhere, then those big names go to other schools.
Then to top it off, those big names blast LSU.

This. Kirby Smart said after the SEC title game he knew what plays we were running, they just couldn’t stop it because of the execution. This isn’t some revolutionary thing that only Joe Brady can run. Playbook is still here. The offense isn’t going to change, though because of how great Burrow was, I doubt we’ll ever see that type of production again.
