After the blowout win in the SEC championship Kirby was asked a number of questions about why they couldn’t stop us. He stated very clearly that they run a lot of the same plays that we run, we are just better at executing them because of our superior talent at WR and and unbelievable QB. He didn’t seem that impressed with the scheme. In fact at one point he mentioned that they knew exactly what we were doing but couldn’t stop it.

That’s because Joe Burrow was the difference.

When you have freak WRs and a do it all back there is always someone open. Burrow was surgical in finding that weakness as the play developed.

Relax about Brady. He isn’t some offensive savant that invented a new offense overnight that can’t be stopped. He simply has a modern offense with a generational talent at QB

Video compliments of Ree

He had a full offseason to work with the WRs. They put in work.

That’s kind of my question. Is Joe Brady THE next great offensive mind?

Or is he a really good offensive mind that just modernized a year in and year out sleeping giant of personnel?

I’ve seen many prolific offenses in cfb over the last decade, and I’ve seen lots of very highly regarded recruits at LSU either regress or never really develop at the skilled positions where throwing a forward pass seemed like an adventure.

Was this year simply the result of a getting a great QB, a good modern system, and mixing in our typical highly regarded skilled talent?

Obviously there will never be another Burrow, but there will be guys plenty good enough to win a title in a modern offense if the other players are there if the later is truly the case.

This can’t be emphasized enough. The 2020 national championship run started on the practice field, film room, and weight room this time last year.

Time for Brennan to carry the torch.

Burrows improvement was absolutely remarkable, mainly the connection he formed with the rest of the offense. However, you don’t just go from 16 TDs to 60 and 3000 yards to 5600in a season without something else other than that. Brady’s additions to the offense, which were mainly Saints concepts with a spread look and creative and more importantly timely RPOs that were more unique than typical RPOs, put this team over the edge, and I don’t think we run the table without Brady. Hopefully Munoz is hired because he should be the closest thing mixed with Ensminger.

We’ve had lots of OCs over the years and none of them did it until he got here.

All you jackasses trying to belittle what he did this year just because he left for a huge promotion are just sad.

I agree with the sentiment, as far as relaxing about Joe Brady, but...

Part of the problem with Kirby is that he thinks they were running the same stuff we were.

Also, executing plays isn't just about the players. It's about coaching the players to be where they're supposed to be when they're supposed to be there. There was a lot of attention to detail that went into that offense.

If you take Kirby's comment at face value, then you could say our offense this year wasn't much different than our offense last year. Except, that would be an absurd thing to say and everyone would laugh at you.

Remember, Burrow is incredibly driven. During the off season he said he steadily practiced footwork drills to improve his accuracy. It showed.

Here you go.

Kirby pretty much said LSU isn't inventing rocket science as far as football goes they just have the horses to execute it better than anyone else.

After the game in his interview, Joe Brady said the same exact thing.

SEC Network video:
2 1/2 minute video - GEORGIA HEAD COACH KIRBY SMART EXPLAINS THAT THE TIGERS AREN'T RUNNING SPECIAL SCHEMES OR PLAYS, THEY ARE JUST EXECUTING WITH HIGHLY EFFICIENT PLAYERS.

You don’t go from competing 56% of your passes & 16 TDS to 76% And SIXTY frickin tds because he “worked with the WRs” in the offseason lmao

Maybe not, but it certainly helps that they stopped dropping passes.

Also helps that the OL went from most sacks allowed in the SEC to winning the Joe Moore award.

No one is doing that. We are jut responding to you idiots shiTting on Brady.

No one thinks the other coaches and players were not critical to the success this year. But only a fool would act like it would have happened without Brady.
