re: Clemson plans to hang it’s NC hopes on their red zone defense.

That ESPN article goes back to the Auburn game. As has been said many times, nobody in the country, including Clemson, has a D line like Auburn's, so the stats in that game regarding our offensive production are an outlier. Also, we played on a wet, slippery field, and the lack of traction hurt our short yardage running game. That will not be an issue in the Dome. Finally, I think we are a better offense--and a better team--since that game. I think the X factor in red zone scoring tonight is going to be CEH. He was unstoppable in the Bama game, and I don't see Clemson stopping him tonight. Geaux Tigers!

Yeah that’s definitely true. Auburn and Georgia probably 2 best D Lines we will face all season.
Clemson is more like Florida I suppose?

If they blitz a lot there may be no red zone opportunities. We will score from the outside.
Brent Venables blitz? Nah....

After the Auburn game, LSU made a commitment to goal-line plays, creating and inserting new red zone plays every
week. Don't be surprised if you see plays you never saw all year.

Clemson needs turnovers. Without them I think we roll. A couple of turnovers could easily flip the game.

A lot of QBs in college cant read past their #1 option. Which makes a Venables run D so deadly. Because the masking really confuses QBs like that. I dont care how good your D is, if the QB can get to a #3 read within 2 seconds you are kinda screwed. Which, PS, Joe Burrow can do.
If Clemson's d line cant get pressure with 4 then there is no way their secondary can keep up with LSU's big 3 to say nothing of the way Moss has come on in the last few games and o btw CEH in the flat as a safety valve.
No, this game comes down to Burrow being Burrow, plain and simple. If he has a Joe Burrow type game they win. I trust the D to stop Clemson more often than Clemson stopping Burrow.
OSU let them off the hook to really frick up the storybook title game. For that reason as well, Clemson is screwed.

We had 70 redzone trips so far this season and have scored on 68 of them with 55 of those being TD's.
That is correct and it is also our biggest weakness. Our biggest weakness is we only score Touchdowns on 78% of our red-zone trips. i guess it could be higher. It is one of the only things we don't do perfectly. Almost perfect is our worst. (and I love it)

55 tds out of 70 in the red zone. You dumb sport

Worse than OSU going into the CFP (59/72)...and we all saw what happened to them...

Have 22 throw a pass...maybe to 9 for a score and beauty pageant wave!

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a wild approach like that from Dabo.

Inside the 10, our best approach is the RPO with Joe scrambling outside the pocket and hitting our receivers breaking off their routes in the end zone. He’s done it successfully numerous times this year.
It’s damn near impossible to stop.

You really should check it before you say something stupid like that

It’s LSU’s only Achilles heel on offense: redzone efficiency. Basically the redzone offense has been good, but not great.
wut
LSu literally is #1 in redzone efficiency IN THE ENTIRE NATION

Let me clarify: inside the 10 and goal line situations leave something to be desired.
you notice they dont quantify how many attempts we've had inside the 10.
think back on the season and ask yourself how many times we needed to score from inside the 10....its a small number and would greatly diminish these stats

We saw in Fiesta Bowl that tempo nullifies that greatly and OSU had success moving the ball easily using tempo.
been saying this for a while...Tempo nullifies disquising things... youre either in it or youre not when youre going fast...

Clyde's gonna be our redzone special with a little Moss in there too
