I doubt anyone is surprised that an Iranian SAM dropped the plane.

Lots of moving pieces in Iran right now. Some folks on Twitter were reporting they were hearing the President would be resigning. They said it was because he wanted to admit they shot that jet down right away and he was being overridden by the IRGC.
Looks like he got his way.
Iran is reversing course here. They're cooperating with us. Apparently some of the IRGC aren't happy about that.
I'd wager that soon we will hear that Trump and the Iranians are going to come to the negotiating table. Much like with what happened with North Korea.
