Water came in pretty good over the last week. Last morning hunt I made, I listened to birds chirping, squirrels scurrying, and woodpeckers pecking as the woods woke up. Now all I hear is frogs and mosquitos....Good luck OB!

Yup. Roxie. Have a couple of big ones on camera that I'm going after. Idk if anything big has been killed near me though. Don't talk to my neighbors much about hunting.

Anyone else have deer all nocturnal? Is it bc the season is late? I see deer all night on the cameras. None during the day or evening

Stand in the woods with 3 shooting lanes

Old fella was dead set on coming in the cutover by himself, so I followed him to a few stands before his in case he got in a bind.

Apparently my jar of estrous leaked out a little in my bag. You haven’t lived until you’ve tried red seal wintergreen estrous blend.

Little brother and I headed to our place in Tensas now. Oldest brother killed a good deer this afternoon up there. I’ll probably come home and hunt my place closer to home Saturday evening and Sunday.

Everyone’s deer are basically nocturnal. Yea, we kill nice deer and see a lot but we’re logging a lot of hours not only during season but the entire year make improvements to our properties, scouting, etc. A lot of it has to do with where the area you hunt also. Whitetail isn’t an easy animal to hunt. I think they’re the most majestic game animal in North America.

If you’ve been hunting the same stand over and over, mix it up if you are capable of hunting multiple stands.

This happens every year and every year everyone forgets about lulls throughout the season. Yes, the pressure from being hunted has them wore out but depending on when your rut is, you can adjust. Most hunters went back to work after hunting 2+ weeks straight. Usually that second weekend after New Years the deer will calm a little. Hang in there and enjoy yourself. Try other stands
