But aren’t 7 day forecasts rather inaccurate and unpredictable?
A Day 7 highlighted threat is very rare, particularly in January. That indicates, to me anyway, that they have confidence in the possibility of a significant severe weather threat, otherwise they would not even highlight it yet.
An SPC met said this about the threat yesterday:

Day 7 areas are rare (Between 0-6 each year), but Day 7 areas in January are even more rare. If my search through our archives is correct, this is only the 4th Day 7 area issued in January.

FIFY
ETA: all depends on the forecaster. I'll pay attention to what RDS says

The Prairieville tornado of 2016 was in February
Yea, most tornadoes in south Louisiana happen in February/March from what I can remember BUT I do not remember a Prairieville tornado in 2016. Refresh my memory. Are you referring to the one that ripped Gold's Gym apart? That's the only thing I can recall.

Still remember the storms last Feb/March that hit East Mississippi and East Alabama

Yes, and went across airline and took out the Popeyes sign.

That Prairieville tornado of 2016 caused 50k in damage to my house. One of three that it hit in pville after it hit golds gym and then crossed airline towards my house. It was so much not fun.
It did help in selling that house a few months later since it was treated to new roof, brick and stucco work, gutters, landscaping, new gate and paint. I was mostly sick about my gate. We had the gate totally redone about 2 weeks before and paid 3k out of pocket—was a huge yard. I walk outside after and behold, brand new gate is somewhere across the road and in my neighbors yard. Had I waited two more weeks I would have saved that and gotten a new one for free.

258-270 hour
If things continue the way they have so far, we will end up with 70 degree weather around that time.

Hopefully this doesn’t screw up travel to the NC game. I imagine most LSU fans will be fine though because they’ll just drive.

They’ll be fine. LSU is a regional brand and not a national fan base like Notre Dame, Ohio St, USC and Miami.
