Staying at the Intercontinental New Orleans for the Natty. Couple of questions?

I will be staying there for the Natty and I know they have valet parking for $50 a night. Any parking garages in walking distance with cheaper prices?
Also where should we eat the night before the game near by?

So you are paying thousands of dollars for tickets and hotel, but looking to save $10 a night for parking?

I can’t figure out if you’re a big spender or a cheap bastard

Use the parking garage. In 2012 parking was a complete shitshow around the city by gameday.

there is a food and drink board.
They are certain to provide a range of possibilities

There's a Whitney Parking Garage on Camp Street. Paid $30 a night. If you chose to valet I truly suggest getting in early, things will get backed up quickly. $50 a night isn't bad for the hotel and it's only about a 15 min walk.

I can relate to this so much that it seemed like a perfectly reasonable request to me and I didn’t even think twice about it.

The Whitney garage right next door is convenient. Not sure what cost is, but would assume about $25.

There’s a parking lot behind hotel on Poydras and Camp
Also a parking garage on corner of Camp and Poydras, across street from Federal Court. Those lots will probably be about as expensive.
Unless you are needing your car, I would use hotel parking

No not spending Thousands, luckily tickets were gifted to me and the wife. And $10 is $10 especially when you have 3 daughters. I have no clue what parking garages cost so that’s the point of the question.

The go park is a street over on carondelet you may wanna check out those rates.
If I were you I’d try to park in Metairie or somewhere outside downtown and Uber to your hotel. Dealing w parking especially during this kind of event sucks.

Stayed there recently. Parking garage attached to hotel and parking in the lot behind hotel cost me $35. Not a big fan of restaurants in hotels but the restaurant, Trenasse, which is attached to hotel does a a great job and is quality restaurant. Leave the car in parking and walk or if too far take a Lyft.

Fair point. Enjoy the game!

Lots of good choices for dinner, but you’re going to need reservations on that night. Everything is going to be crowded. But for seafood, go to Peche. Something more rustic, try Couchon. Both are run by the same chef partners and are excellent. You’re also close to Emeril’s and Meril’s, both Emeril Lagasse restaurants. Herbsaint and Domenica (Italian) are nearby.
The dangers of downtown NOLA are exaggerated on this board. But like any big city, be aware of your surroundings. If you’re walking, stay with a crowd. If the streets are empty, which I don’t think will be the case, Uber or Lyft.
Have a great time. Go Tigers!

Last time I stayed there, the valet left our key in another car. When we asked them to bring the car around because we were ready to leave, they couldn’t find the key. They finally found it... in a car that had left days earlier and was currently in Georgia. Soooo good luck if you valet.

I have free nights at Hyatt centric fq using chase points 450 per night, don’t give af about valet

Park at the Intercontinental then have dinner at Krystal Burger. It'll be a wash.
