How to get rid of college weight?

Graduating this May, and I want to get back in shape (get rid of the pudge) similar to before college. I’m 6’0” 195 but really want to get down to 175 which I think is my ideal weight.
What diet/exercise plan would be most effective to reach that goal? I have worked out in spurts in college and lost weight here and there but never really committed to a plan. Thanks!

Lift heavy weights and eat less calories than you burn.

Stop drinking soda and alcohol completely. Take the stairs if you can and walk everywhere. That alone will probably get you there.
If you want to do it quickly, do the above and start jogging. Worked for me, works for most, might not work for you though.

Follow this advice for all of January:
Cardio in a fasted state first thing in the mornings.
Drink water.
Lift heavy shite.
Cut out junk food/drinks. (Alcohol included)
7-8 hours of restful sleep at night.

Start a linear weight lifting program.
If you're eating like a typical college student, cut alcohol, sugar and fast food/pizza out. Up your protein.
Your metabolism will do the rest. I wouldn't worry about more complicated diet advice unless you're already eating clean and that's how you gained the weight.

Lift with a higher rep range
Do HIIT
Run sprints
And squats and deadlifts

The guy is 22 or so and asked about losing 20 pounds. He doesn’t need to completely change his life to meet that goal.
OP - run, cut out eating out during the week and don’t drink every night. Those three things will melt off the weight without you having to sacrifice your social life.

He asked how to lose 20 pounds during the spring semester.
Cutting alcohol, sugar, fast food and pizza will do that in conjunction with lifting. If you want the fastest, most straightforward way, that's it for him.
I don't give people life advice. Whether he wants to cut those things is his choice, but cutting those things is the linear path to his goal.

Low carb diet. No sugary drinks, no alcohol. Swim laps if possible. Weights, low weight, high reps. Cardio. I’d rather be ripped than bulked.
