Last 6 games:

13.5 ppg
6.8 rb
4.3 ast
3 3pm
1.5 steals
41.9 fg%
43.9 3 pt%
+9.8 +/-

It's been more than 1 good game. He said last night he's finally starting to feel healthy again and getting his legs under him. He missed 9 months of being able to work out and play.

What i have liked that he's done offensively is attacking the rim on the fast break, and shooting open threes off the pass.
What I would like for him to never do at any point in time is take a step back 3, take a stupid arse heat check 3 that he will airball, or take a 3 off the dribble where he passed to no one during the possession.
Still not seeing him do anything outside of shooting open 3's well on offense. He still has no interest in getting to the goal in the half court, and that floater he tried last night was hilarious. He seems incapable of scoring from anywhere outside of open 3's and fast break layups. But, if that's what you are best at, then do it, and he's been doing that, so good for him.

He is without a doubt playing better, but i still don't like him on this team.

I think something that's finally starting to click for everyone is that they simply have to move the ball on offense. When you catch the ball, either shoot if you're open, penetrate or pass. Don't hold the ball and don't dribble around wasting time. Lonzo seems to be getting the ball out of his hands in the half court early and setting up for a three, and our offense looks more fluid b/c of it.

Look Ill sunshine-pump all day, but take those stats with a grain of salt.

over the last 6 games, we've played 1 very good team, 1 solid team, and 4 bad teams. I'm including houston since they didn't have their top 3 players & Minny since didn't have KAT (although they are probably considered "bad" either way)

Zo has played well as of late but I'm still cautious

Good for him

He is a professional nba player, keep hitting those wide open shots or get traded

Personally, I just think it’s a really dumb idea to trade the guy with a huge amount of potential when we aren’t close to winning now anyway.

Perhaps I’m underestimating his trade market, based on the hate he gets here and on social media.

I just feel like people are so desperate to see a Eric Gordon or Austin Rivers type situation, then bitch and moan and throw their hands up and say, “why didn’t the guy who was barely 22, in his 3rd season with a multitude of injuries, ever play like that here?!?!”

I think the biggest takeaway from what they are doing with Lonzo is creating floor space for Zions return. If LB keeps this up, teams can’t just leave him open on the arc and slag off to help Zions defender. It happens to be helping us now, but this is long term planning that they are working on now.

Yes they will continue to leave him open. Of course he'll have games where he goes 6-10 from 3, then he'll have a game where he goes 1-11. He's still no where near good enough a 3 point shooter for teams to care about him shooting 3's.
Notice how his threes lately have been with no one within like 10 feet of him, and when he catches it, no one on the defense goes to him. He's being completely ignored, and i don't see that changing anytime soon.

Just like the playoff series we had when we kept letting Aminu shoot 3's, and he kept making them, we didn't change our strategy, and we swept the Blazers.

Watching him drive and send the pocket pass to Favors makes me think of what this will be like with Zion. That should be a gold mine.

It took Darius Miller until the 2nd half of the season to make the other team's scouting reports, but he hit the threshold for volume and proficiency that he became a threat defenses paid attention to. Lonzo's shooting 36.1% on 6.1 attempts per game. If he can keep that pace and proficiency up, teams will start paying attention to him.

I guess I'm kind of a fence-straddler now with Lonzo. He was terrible earlier. He played the first 25 games of the season at the level of a replacement player. He's been much better lately, but I agree those who say that he's just playing OK.

He's not hurting the team with his play anymore, and I'm happy to see the progress. His recent play is more of a relief than something to get excited about.

But it's a lot better than nothing.

I just love having someone like Lonzo who can dish out perfect passes to the shooting pocket in just about any way possible. He has flaws, but if anyone thinks he isnt an extremely gifted and smart passer, theyre wrong

In 4 years in Portland, Aminu shot 35.3% from three taking 4 a game. Did any defense ever care if he was shooting a three?

I'm glad Lonzo is playing better, and i know he can be a good player. I just don't care for his game on the Pelicans. If he would figure out how to attack the rim in the half court like he does on the fast break, i'd be all in with him. His half court offense is still terrible. If i had to choose between him and Moore playing down the stretch of games, I'd choose Moore in a heartbeat.

I think he can be a smart passer, but he's too busy caring about making a highlight pass than just making the right play sometimes.

I think more of his turnovers stem from dribbling into bad spots, usually (whether it’s a fancy pass or normal chest pass) his passes are accurate and to the receiver’s chest

4 a game isn't enough. Moore has averaged a little over 4 3PA per 36 minutes for the last 3 years and teams have left him open. You need to get into 6-7 per game/36 for teams to consider you a volume shooter. Moore is shooting 6.6 3s per 36 minutes this year. If he keeps it up I would bet he starts getting attention from defenses in the 2nd half of the season too.

lets say Lonzo continues to improve going into negotiations for his new contract. as a former #2 overall pick & "improving" player what type of contract will he accept & what are we willing to offer?

I know there are a lot of hypotheticals in the above sentences so I'll present it like this: how much does Lonzo have to improve for you to offer him 4/80?

4/80 is basically what Sabonis just got. and tbh that probably won't cut it considering Sabonis was the #11 pick & Lonzo was the #2 pick & touted as "the next Magic."
