When I was a youngin my parents sent my sister and I to the movies on Christmas Day so they could have a heart to heart with my brother who had just been kicked out of LSU for getting in a fistfight with a tow truck driver

Working at a theater you quickly learn it's by far the busiest day of the year. Eventually people get tired of staying inside and the only thing they have to do is go see a movie

Only 65% of the people in this country identify as Christian, yet almost 100% have the day off. Service and entertainment businesses that are open on Christmas Day make a fricking killing.

The Jewish tradition of eating Chinese food and seeing a movie on Christmas Day is a very real thing.

Movie eliminates much pontificating.
And for my sisters the preferred activity of life.
But today is basketball in my familys enjoyment of holy days.

Hoops. Warriors. Lakers.
Celtics.

Drove by a theater about 1:00 today, and the parking lot indicated a solid crowd.

A local Chinese restaurant had a sign up this week that they would be open for Christmas. I asked one of the workers if many customers come in then. They went on and on about how busy they would be with a big crowd.

When I was a teenager we went to the movies on Christmas night. A ton of people want to get out of the house and there are very few options.

I think it is ridiculous and selfish to go to the movies on christmas day. I feel for the theatre employees who cant spend time with their family because these selfish people are hellbent on going to the movies.

FFS, what a shitty thing to do. Rent a fuken movie or find something where you can interact with your family or find something else to do. Let the theatre employees have their day off.

I’m only posting to get the number of replies off of 13. I hate the number 13 but I have nothing of substance to contribute to this post.
