Is this the most "emotionally" attached you've become to a Tiger team ...

...ever? I was raised just south of campus down Highland & Staring Lane area in the 50's & 60's and remember many great memories of those Tiger teams and players. Many of those greats, Cannon, Stovall, Robinson, and others I was privileged to meet and interact with. However...

...this team we have this year, along with the many backstories about our players, have struck a chord very close to my heart unlike any other team I can remember in the past 60 years. If I am privileged to live another 25-30 years...it would take something very special to shove this year's Tiger football team to #2. I love this team and will always remember this time!!!!

TBH i still think I am dreaming and I dont want to wake up. 2003 was and still is most emotionally attached I have been this far but if we win it all this season will take the cake :)

The 03 season was unbelievable. I couldn’t imagine seeing LSU win a title after the suffering of the 90s

2003 for me because that was the first time I got to see LSU win a national championship and the night we beat Georgia and Oklahoma got stomped by Kansas st was a crazy night that I will never forget.

I'm emotionally invested every year. Sometimes for better. Sometimes for worse.

TigerMike, you and I must be about the same age. I grew up in Hillsdale, between the Perkins Rd. Overpass and the lakes. The campus was a childhood stomping grounds.
I loved the Dietzel years, Bert Jones era and our many great defenses.
But I have never had this much fun during a football season. I can’t imagine any team replacing this one as my favorite. But then again, I never thought I would see what I’m seeing.
A NC would be the ultimate capper, and I have complete confidence it is going to happen I just don’t feel like this team will be denied.

This is without a doubt a very special team, however, I was crushed after the last national championship game we played. That night walking from the super dome to the hotel I vowed to never let myself get that emotionally in vested in a football team again...

I cried like 3 times in 03 and 07

This year and 2011 I’ve kind of expected to win if that makes sense.

I think 07 was the most emotional for me with all the close games

I was a senior at LSU in 2007-08, so no. No other LSU team will ever surpass 2007 for me. It wasn't the most flashy or dominant team, but it's my favorite.

1982

2 3 point losses and a 1 point loss to nebraska in the orange bowl.

my first real year as a full fledged tiger and my first year of little league.

obviously at that age it leaves an impression.

the arnsparger years laid the rest of the foundation.

1986 is a close second.

2003 would be third because it's the first natty in my lifetime.

2019 is 2011 dominance all over again (albeit offense), but hopefully with a different finish.

i think of joeyb as the honey badger on offense.

I used to play Dixie League baseball at the park on Perkins Road and fished in the lakes every dam n weekend, except for crawfish season. Good days.

For me it was either 2010 or 2001 but this years team is close. They played so well so early this year that they didn’t become the “underdog” like the other teams did.

That was a heartbreaker for sure. I felt pretty good at the end of last year, but my attitude at the beginning of this season was that I had absolutely no expectations. After third and seventeen at Texas I was convinced that this was going to be a special season! Boy has it ever! Miss the tailgates with you Spankum. Hope you are well

I was fond of 2003, 2005 - 2007, and 2011. Even 2013 was very special at times.

2019 has definitely been special and Burrow being the center of it is a big deal. I love the underdog storiees of Eaux, Jeaux, Clyde and even Thad Moss. That adds to the attachment, I think.

03 has to be the answer for those over 35. We were in our early 20’s and probably more involved than now pushing 40 years old. Different times.
