Thursday nights at Superior Grill was their busiest night of the week
You may be right, but I thought Wednesday was the big night there, when they had 3 for 1 drinks i think, going all the way back to the 80s, when Superior was known as Que Sera... i was way too young to go to Que Sera, but my parents and their friends were regulars there, that place would have a line out the door and the surrounding area was like the block party at Parasols on St Paddy’s, but every single week.. again, i think it was Wednesday’s , but not sure.

I always forget that the Columns Hotel is an actual hotel, even though it’s right there in the name.
I think of it exclusively as a bar.. and a great bar, at that.. i’d say it’s a Top Three bar in New Orleans; just my personal opinion, your mileage may vary... I spent a lot of time there in the late 90s/early 2000s, mostly on Wednesday or Thursday nights, after hitting up Superior Grill across the street... Was there for drinks as recently as about 18 months ago, and still really enjoyed the place- but again, totally escaped me that it was a hotel.
Well, it ain't big
It is a blast to go out in New Orleans and have that place as your home base. The rooms were pretty shitty though.
And yeah, it is one of my favorites in New Orleans as well. Always try to grab a drink or two there when I'm in town for sentimental reasons.

Great iconic uptown bar made many stops there back in the day for an after work drink or before heading out to eat.
Looking at the photos makes me want to head on over right now for an old fashioned.
And a good spot for checking out the talent that stopped by for a drink.

back in the day (early 80's) Que Sera, KOLB's, Cuvee', and Stephen & Martin were some of my favorite drinking stops. Growing up as a teenager in NOLA was crazy. Thankful I still have a liver.

They better not. That’s one of my prime hangouts. That bar better remain the same.

This was like 20 plus years ago when Steve owned the place. I think Steve had a massive stroke and had to end up selling. NOLA having less dives......a travesty

I'm sorry I thought you were talking about The Columns, George was a regular there.

Got mixed up but I remember him there as well. I am talking about the professional alcoholic at Bud's. I'm thinking that being a regular there was the Apex of his employed life

I didn't know Carnival cruise ships had such elaborate brickwork.

This is a good thing. Have you ever taken a good look at how dingy that place is? It needs some Stanley Steamer action.

I love how you completely left out the next few words in my post, which were: “just my own personal opinion”... Jeez, it’s not like these things are subjective or anything.........
