Champions League Draw at 5 AM CST, EurGOATpa draw starts right after the Champions League draw finishes.

Some good matchups there. City have avoided the big Round of 16 draw for the last few seasons so it's time to step up.

It's pretty aggravating the way it set up that you'll lose one of Atleti/Liverpool, Real/City but have one of Atalanta/Valencia make the quarters. Spurs lucked out so hard.

what is the origin of the inter-association barriers for the draw? TV consideration? fair play to each domestic league?

After drawing Juventus (Spurs finished first in a group with Real that year) and Dortmund the past two years, the odds kind of evened out this time.

I honestly don’t know, but I think it’s the best way to do it. The last thing I want in the UCL are domestic match ups if they can be avoided. It’s also only for the round of 16 and group stages so I think the rule is perfect as is.
