I don’t know why people are mad about this. There may be one or two players from the service academies who would get drafted each year.

It definitely removes the hardship a star athlete would face, post-academy, who would otherwise receive an appointment. That number would conceivably increase.

Correct

I wonder if this might open up an avenue for elite high school athletes to consider these academies as an option though?
