last year

O couldn't beat Malzahn again.

He did.

O couldn't beat Kirby Smart.

He did.

UCF bowl game, a lot of stuff began to tie together.

Throughout last year the individual talents that came on the scene and would return for 2019. We knew since 2017 this could be the year. These moments above really tied to all together for me.

Third and 17. I knew that we weren't relying on talent to hold on, we were now using the talent we had properly.

For me it was the scoring drive just before the half at Texas. It let me know that this team, staff and all involved were working with a different mindset than we’d seen in the past.

I would say 3rd and 17 but I still had my doubts about us beating bama after that. So I’ll have to say after the bama game.

I actually owned a “ Beat Bama “ shirt that I got after the 9-6 game in 2011 and we never beat em since then so I decided before the bama game this year I would sacrifice the shirt to the football gods by burning it in our bonfire... and the rest is history. I’m not superstitious but I am a little stitious.

3rd and 17 was exciting, but our history with Bama left some doubt in my mind, more because of the mental block than our talent. But after halftime in T-town, there was no doubt left.

After 8 years of getting hammered by their defensive front I guess I had to see it to believe it. Lol

The first half of the first game i really knew there was only 1 team to be worried about and we all know who that was. I have followinglsu since 1965 and this is the best team i have ever seen

UT game in general and 3rd and 17 in particular. I knew then this was a different Tiger Team.

This! Realized we had talent at multiple positions that allowed us to run and pass exceptionally well against any team, including Bama!

Before the season, I bought into the hype, that we would have a lock-down dominating defense, and an improved offense to get a little separation in close games...I always had a gut feeling that this was the year we finally beat Bama again, but had a nagging doubt that we would screw up and lose one game that we weren't supposed to lose, and finish 11-1...

...after the Florida game, when Florida played GREAT, their best game of the year, and we stood toe-to-toe, took their best shots and were just flat-out head-&-shoulders BETTER than their best effort, I started believing that no-one was going to beat us this year - nobody was stopping us or out-scoring us.

Texas game- that's when I saw that our offense was truly different. When we threw on 3rd and long late in the game, I was like, Wow- we are no longer a conservative team and are truly willing to open it up! No more Lea Miles!

The Alabama when Bama had two big plays to open the game and they panned across the crowd with their Pom poms. My buddy was shaking his head. Thinking it was the same old song and dance where we have our Achilles heel moment.

I just looked at him and said “we aren’t losing this game”. And I believed it.

I have never said that with confidence before
