Democrat Defections From Impeachment

They know it's coming. If they are already leaking it, it's got to be worse than the small handful they've tried to portray it as. It must be enough that they are actually worried the Impeachment vote might fail.
If the vote fails, will the melt be bigger or worse than Election Night 2016?

Not giving Bezos any more money than I have to through Amazon.

No way this doesn't pass the House.

They had better make sure it fails. They don't want a trial in the Senate. This has just been a show throw mud. It won't pass.

2 things:
First I'll believe it when I see it
Second, I don't think they're smart enough to defect

The vote will pass with no more than 3 defections.

The vote will pass judiciary and the full house. They wouldn’t have brought it to this point if they didn’t have the votes

What if a few R’s state openly that they want this in the senate to expose how much of a shitshow this is, so just enough to make sure it passes, but openly stating they oppose impeachment but want the D’s to get what’s coming. That would eliminate the “bi-partisan” support argument the D’s will try to claim.
After yesterday’s fiasco of a hearing for the Dim’s, you would think another fair open hearing in the senate is tha last thing they’d ever want!

You are not a leader, you are a representative.

I think the vote has a decent chance of failing in the House. When it comes down to the individual Reps from purple districts, they'll have to decide which is more important to their political survival - towing the party line, or actually taking into consideration what their constituents want. It will be interesting as hell, no matter what.
They have to know what the real poll numbers are. The more they push this thing, the stronger Trump gets. Some of the ones not totally invested in this may defect. The ones who are totally invested will have to go down with the ship.

Slotkin, who represents a Trump district, said she has not decided how she will vote. While her district is “overall not supportive of impeachment,” she said some votes require members to go with their gut over constituents’ wishes.

These are the most telling two paragraphs, IMO. This democrat believes she knows better than her constituents because, as she clearly says, they’re not smart enough to understand. It’s obvious that she sees herself as representing the CIA instead of her district.

The DNC will crack the whip to make it happen, just like the Obamacare vote in 2009.
Political careers were destroyed, but the DNC got their way.
