F-150 radiator fan stays on

Have a 2012 Ecoboost F-150. After I crank up and run for a while, when I come to slower speeds the radiator fan will stay running on MAX for a while. It will reduce after maybe a while but stays on higher than it should IMO. The temperatures seem all fine so I don't think it's an oil or overheating issue.
Any thoughts on where I should start looking?

Here is a pretty decent thread that may help you out... seems it could range from A/C problems to Relays to Fan controller to Thermostat.

Id keep close tabs on the coolant levels. My Ecoboost had a small leak from the overflow tank hose (notorious problems in the 2011-2013s). It later had an issue with a leaky water pump before I got rid of it. Fans were working overdrive when the coolant dropped

Just went through this on my 2012 f150, (heater would not work at idle as well) I was fortunate it was because of low coolant levels that were caused by a leak in the upper radiator hose (as mentioned above) seems they have an o ring or gasket that goes bad, pretty easy fix

Just had this same issue in my 2014 5.0 f150. Mine was my evaporator core leaking but you could just have low freon from a leak in a less expensive place. Go get it die tested
I was told the fans stayed on as a fail safe because the truck realized something wasnt right with pressures/levels within the AC system
ETA: i also had the radiator coolant O-ring leak. This didnt cause my fans to come on but its worth a check because its simple. Fans will come on if there is low coolant but it has to be pretty low from my understanding

Frick. So fricking simple. It was the coolant level. But now I gotta find the leak...I haven’t noticed anything on the ground where I park.

Mine leaked at the Y in front of the water pump and the hose that ran to the passenger side top of the radiator. Replaced only 1 and had to go back and get the other a few weeks later. Might as well do them both
Mine leaked pretty consistently and i could see it on the ground. I think it would leak only when coolant was hot so it wouldn't leak all night. However yours could maybe only when driving depending on your leak location.

Mine leaked at the elbow coming from the underside of the overflow reservoir, there and upper radiator hose seem to be the more common ones.

I drive a Silverado and have had no leaks!

Don't worry, the condenser will eventually. And probably the master cylinder.

ecoboost uses an electric fan, not belt operated like other engines. it's loud AF.
hopefully Ford addresses that.

Tulane,
I ended up installing this product next to the coolant fill tank. LINK
You essentially cut away the slide on nozzle portion coming from the tank and install this in its place. It took some serious elbow grease and a bit of dish soap, but it did the trick. I believe the dealership fix involves a brand new nozzle and overflow tank. Costly repair around $600-700. This is a $30 fix and eliminates any potential leaking.
