Here's what I have learned in the past couple of hours after speaking with many people:
-- I don't put much stock in Dave Aranda being hired at #UNLVfb.
-- Vetting is still going on.
-- There might not be a decision until end of the week.
-- Marcus Arroyo is still in the mix.

On one hand, if you look at coaching hires the vast majority, like 80%, come from offense, its simply a much easier sell to fans and boosters, people wanna see points. frick, just look at how sexy we suddenly got when we flipped from one powerhouse to the other.
On the other hand, maybe that same offense is whats driving Aranda away, maybe the pace really does make his job infinitely harder and he wants to get out now with his rep still intact.
In summation, I dont know what the frick to think.

Good luck recruiting players of LSU caliber to UNLV.

that’s what gets me, none of it makes sense.
they’ve been chasing the Oregon OC for a while and I think that’s who they really want.
if anything, a number of PAC-12 teams will fire their coaches right now to sign Aranda.
Aranda is a smart guy and he knows this is a step backward career-wise. He’ll land a much better offer soon, especially if he can bring home a NC.
