what was the thought process behind scheduling Rice at NRG Stadium in Houston?
What was Alleva thinking?

We have to have them at Tiger Stadium to beat them? Recruiting. Home and home? Anywhere, anyone, anytime.

Rice Stadium > NRG

That's my only gripe about this game.

It's a way to essentially get 8 home games next season.

After the natty we can go the Clemson route and play cream puffs until the SEC schedule.

Seems like LSU likes to play in Houston every so often. Lots of Alumni and recruits there.

As for Rice, it looks like this might have been a 2 for 1 with them. We played in Tiger Stadium in 2018 and will again in 2024, with a "neutral site" in their city next year.

So, we're keeping the Texas game? Good.

Yep. Cuts Chicken’s travel time down significantly.

Huge LSU fanbase in Houston and having a continued presence in Texas is huge. When I lived in Houston a while back it was all big 12 and everything was Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma.

This thread topic screams we’re undefeated and number 1 in the CFP with a heisman trophy quarterback and another great recruiting class lined up so I had to find something to complain about.

It's a 2 for 1. Rice came to TS last year and will come back again.

It's their home game. If you haven't been to Rice Stadium lately... it's a dump and falling apart. They rarely use the upper decks and the endzone seating is not used. It can safely hold maybe 40,000 at most.

They have chosen to move it to NRG Stadium, but it's technically their home stadium for that game like they did for their game vs Texas this year.

Plus it's nice for us Houston Tigers to have a short trip every once in awhile.
