OU fan here. I know it’s easy to cherry pick the specific posts that get your userbase fired up but the posts shown do not reflect the opinions of the entire fan base or even the majority. Most of the posters at dirtburglars are fully aware of the limitations of this OU team and understand the challenge in facing LSU. Also, most fans are very aware of how good Burrow is. The guy’s been spectacular. There have actually been some OU fans at dirtburglars who didn’t even want to be in the CFP this year because they didn’t want to lose again. To me that’s loser attitude. You can’t win it if you’re not in it. It may only be a 10% chance (or whatever) but teams outside the CFP have a 0% chance of winning.
Anyway, looking forward to the game regardless of the outcome. The Tigers probably won’t need it but I’ll say good luck anyway. Boomer Sooner.

Also, while traveling back from Florida the following year during bowl season, we ran into OU fans headed down for the BCS game. One of my party, who was wearing a 2003 nation championship shirt, wished them luck against USC, and that fellows reply was "I can't believe you're still celebrating that," or something to that effect, in regards to the shirt.
Doesn't surprise me. As I said, they're not the kind of opposing fans you'd want to invite to your tailgate and share food/drinks with. Case in point, our little Sooner buddy in this thread.

Know our place? So since you've historically dominated another conference we should fear you?
If you were in our conference all those years, we'd have dominated you as well, similar to how Alabama has owned you.
LSU is an Auburn level program...nowhere near the OU's and Bama's...not even close.

When was the last time OU won a national title in football?

2000. During that same time, how many conference championships has Texas won? 2. OU won 13 in that time. You’re bringing a knife to a gunfight.

When your main source of smack talk leading into a contest like this is 'muh historical program' it sort of tells you how they think the ACTUAL GAME may be headed. I guess maybe that helped ease the pain for some in 2003 too.

LSU is a lesser program.
Auburn has a more recent title than USC...doesn't really mean anything other than chronology is fun.

My memories of 2003 OU fans in Nola was just how insulted they seemed to have to play LSU and how humorless and unfriendly they were. Like Aggies, the thought of having fun seemed to annoy them. We bought a group of them a round on game day and it was like hanging out with your great-Uncle in a nursing home . No charisma- no joy.

Yes the OU fan base is remarkably tight-assed and humorless. We saw that in 2003; they perfectly reflected their tight-assed, humorless coach, Bob Stoops. In contrast, the Ohio State fans in 2007 were acceptably obnoxious but seemed to have fun.
This was my experience as well. I'd go so far as to say OSU fans, at least all of those that I interacted with, were some of the most fun opponent fans I've ever hung out with.

half those posts, if not more, are from trolls who are not OU supporters

Chronology is fun.
Since 2000, OU has zero national titles in football, while LSU has two, and has played for another.

We play in a superior conference that basically cannibalizes itself every year. If we played in the Little XII, it would be a different story.

You do know we have a higher winning percentage than Bama this century right?
Also, 21-14. I think White just threw another pick.

You're an idiot. What does the avatar next to my name say? The Longhorn is because I live in Austin, although I do have a Bachelors Degree from UT.
Did you attend community college in Oklahoma?
Don't get mad. Use your words.

*holds my hand up* Trying to use my words...when did you say was the last Natty for OU football? I'm sorry if i missed your answer, i should have more respect for such a clearly more dominate AND historic program.

Burrow has more than 1000 yards more passing
Jalen has roughly 1000 more rushing
Main difference is Burrow has a big edge in completion % and has had more big moments. Burrow's rushing stats aren't much to look at but they're all very clutch and help LSU move the chains.
They are using career numbers I believe.

5. LSU is not top 10 all-time.
Ehhh, close. I'd say 4th or 5th all time.
LSU is definitely on the top 10 bubble. I'd say the natty this year puts us in the top 10 all time.

So, you're gonna equate all Sooner fans with what 3 or 4 idiots on a message board said? ok.
Every fanbase has their idiots, so let clear a few things up.
1. Burrow is the best QB in the country...period. He will win the Heisman and he deserves it.
2. People bagging on LSU's defense stats might want to look closer...a ton of those yards were in meaningless blowouts. LSU's defense looked fine to me vs UGA.
3. To be fair, OU's offense is not UGA either.
4. OU is a top 3 program all-time.
5. LSU is not top 10 all-time.

Here we go. OU is the Alabama of the Yankees. We were good 40 years ago, we have pedigree. UHG...
