About the same imo. Klein is probably more universal at the LB position, as in can play all 3. Teo is good at run D but probably about as good as Klein. Klein imo is just a tad better in pass coverage, which neither are that great in. If I had to give an answer I’d say Klein.

ETA: I know Klein can play Mike and Sam, not sure about Will.

I think Te'o usually plays Middle, & Klein usually plays Strongside with the Saints. I assume Klein could easily play Middle though.

I like Teo's instincts more, but I'll take Klein's athleticism.

I like Teo's zone coverage more, but I'll take Klein's man-to-man coverage.

Both are monsters against the run when they get a clean hit on the ball carrier. They're kind of similar.

That’s debate we are having because to me it seems Teo is better in coverage wether it’s 1 on 1 or zone. Klein in man coverage gets taken apart

the better question is who is worse at this point

neither one is a keeper to be sought after

but to answer the question, teo is not as bad as klien is

Te'o isn't any better. Te'o lacks the speed to keep up with receivers in man-to-man. Klein can, at least, physically do it...he just usually screws it up.

That's the best answer I can give you.

I agree if Te'o is put in the correct position. If we have 3 LB's on the field...Te'o at MLB with Davis & Kiko on the outside is very doable.

Te'o just needs speed around him to produce at a high level. Our D-Line is legit, Davis/Kiko are legit and have speed, & we also have CGJ/PJ Williams/Vonn Bell roaming around the perimeter at times.

It's easier to cover up the weaknesses of Te'o...relative to Klein imo.

I don't care for Klein myself, dude is just not that impressive to me. As a matter of fact Kiko Alonso and Craig Robinson played much better in place of Klein when he was out. Was he hurt or something?? Apparently so, but I don't understand why Robinson doesn't play more, the guy has always been a solid LB'er for the Saints.

This is idiotic. Klein was starting for us on a good defense. If we cut him, he’d be scooped up right away off waivers. Te’O has been sitting at home the whole year. I’m sure he would have been playing if he was in demand.

I think Te’o is better in man-to-man and zone coverage. Zone coverage is where he shines because he’s in good position. In man coverage he makes good reads but can be taken advantage of because of his athleticism (or lack thereof).

Klein is just so bad in coverage. Seems to always be out of position and leaves guys wide open.

While a guy may be open, I feel like Te’o creates small windows where Klein leaves giant open areas.

Both are similar in the run game though.

Teo is a better run stuffer. Klein is kind of average in every area of the game. He’s not bad but not really good either but he isn’t really a weakness either.

So while Teo is def better at stuffing the run, he’s pretty bad in coverage. Hopefully Alonso can play

He is a stop gap fill in who knows the system! We’re not talking long term. Why are you saying it’s idiotic?

Idgaf what the haters say. Klein is a damn good LB. His shortcomings are blown way out of proportion. Y’all act like he’s Shanle.

Klein is a better cover LB than T’eo, but that’s not saying much. T’eo plays great close to the line and hitting running lanes. Klein is adequate in those regards.

Klein’s biggest issue is consistency. He’s like the 2018 Ginn version at LB. He can have a damn good game then he’ll disappear for a few weeks. I agree he’s better than what this board acts like.

Klein was essential in the making of this defense with allen, Before him, they had no one to adjust the calls at the line or in the game at the line. Almost like a poor poorer mans vilma.

I always thought Teo was good.

Klein may not excel in pass coverage, but the guy is a stud and a gamer.

Honestly, I haven’t watched Teo that much.

One would have thought this would be obvious, but for so many on here, the puzzling hatred for Klein blinds them to the obvious truth.
