Hulu - The Handmaid's Tale

As a drama, it's dookie.

As a unintentional comedy, it's great.

I watched the first season over a hungover Saturday (before all the feminists started dressing like the handmaids at Kavanaugh hearings and saying that it was real). It was meh, ended up focusing mostly on TD/twitter with it on the background. Never bothered to start S2 when it came out. If you liked episode 1, then why not continue until you're bored?

Females love it. I made it through the first season with the ole lady, thought it was boring

It’s actually really good at times. My biggest complaint is that there’s too much filler, and not enough forward momentum to the story. They could cut the seasons down by a few episodes, and it would be better. Still worth a watch, and this last season finally felt like the story was really starting to move forward.

First season was good. Seasons after that have declined and gotten more ridiculous

Liked the first season, and couldn’t make it through the second, though it had some good moments. Didn’t know they had a third.

It was an okay series but it should be called:

“A handmaids tale: toxic masculinity”

Or

“frick men: a handmaids tale”

It's pretty a pretty fricking amazing acting job by Elizabeth Moss. Also the kid actors/actresses are top notch. Almost the entire cast, really.

While I don't agree with all the sentiments ITT, the first season is fantastic, the second season is pretty good, and the third season is OK up to this point, but we are on episode 10 and hoping for a wild ending.

The ONLY problem I have with the show is the writing at times. There are times when it seems like June is getting special treatment from the aunts, and/or things break exactly right for her to not go up on the wall. I know they can't kill her, but I wish they'd tone her actions down a bit. Sometimes it's like they forget they are in a totalitarian society.

I don't mind the slow burn, because it makes the payoff that much better.

This show is not breaking bad or mad men, but I do think it's an excellent TV show.
