Not the same situations. FSU struggled in plenty of games. Clemson breezed through it. Hell FSU was lucky to be defending champions, Auburn kind of choked away a big lead, Clemson blew the doors off Bama.

Just cause I want to post this somewhere - the Bama qb recruit and Clemson qb recruit are flat out balling right now against each other

While I admit complaining is rather dumb at the same time it is coach/committee politics.
If you assume they will be 13-0 after next week 9 of those games are conference games, they play Carolina as their in-state rival every year and who knew how bad A&M would be when the schedule was made. They did play two ducks but so did LSU and Bama had 3 ducks.
In the end, we really don't know how good they are. Last year they had two close games (A&M and Syracuse) this year they had one close game with UNC. Then they rolled into the playoffs with similar questions and dismantled the Irish and the Tide.
Ranking them #1 would be foolish but any of the other 3 teams taking them lightly would be even more foolish.

Shite, Bama was sitting there at #5 with not a single win against a Top 25 team.
Utah is #6 without a single win against a Top 25 team (they can cure that with a win against Oregon in the Pac-12 title game.)
If Bama was poised to be in, Clemson should definitely be in...and if Utah beats Oregon, they're in...sorry Oklahoma...people have already forgotten about your chances.
