Ummm... not an urban legend. The cocoa in chocolate is poisonous to dogs. I call bogus on the dog you know that eats it all the time

I know I’ve had dozens of dogs and they all loved chocolate.
Hug them close, life is fragile

Chocolate is bad for them, but like a ton of things only in excess.

Milk chocolate like Hershey kisses aren't nearly as toxic as darker chocolate.

Milk chocolate not real chocolate. Try feeding your dog real dark chocolate and you best say good bye first. They cannot process something in real chocolate and if they eat enough they will die think like alcohol for humans.

Chocolate has theobromide, which is toxic to dogs.
A Hershey's kiss is very small and like most candy, the chocolate is heavily diluted.

I've seen a dog eat an entire bowl of Hershey's kisses and was perfectly fine

Cocoa powder of any kind is the absolute worst for them, doesn’t take much of that to kill a dog.

Grapes are bad for them, too
My dog likes both so I have to keep it out of reach.

Years ago one of my dogs ate a giant bag of Hershey's kisses. I panicked, called my vet and he just said keep an eye on him, as long as he was pooping, he’d be fine. Lots of sparkly shite in the yard that night.
