Hampton and Delpit

Serious question. Is it possible to maybe see Hampton playing alot more minutes in these next few games?? I watched the whole game and didnt see Hampton doing anything incredible but he definitely wasnt a liability which is great. I think having him back there showed what Jacoby Stevens could do around the line of scrimmage making plays so just imagine if we can somehow run out a squad with Hampton in the back and having Delpit and Stevens roving doing what the do making plays everywhere. What do yall think??

I kinda Hope this happens
Delpit is better when he can Roam and make plays.

What player do you want to sit in order to play a third safety?

He can play in 3 more games this season since this was his first action of the year. I wouldn’t expect to see him against A&M unless needed. That will give him the SEC Championship game, the CFP, and the Natty and he’d still be able to redshirt.

Maybe Vincent at times?? I know you would have to sit someone but I just thought it was an interesting discussion.

This wasn’t his first action of the year. He may as well play where he can help out..

Are you talking about redshirting Hampton? Pretty sure that ship has sailed, he was playing on special teams before last week’s game.

I don't think redshirting him should be any concern. If he doesn't have a future in football, then he will leave LSU in three years anyway to pursue the MLB. Hampton probably isn't a player who will spend 5 years at LSU.

Vincent was pretty solid Saturday. It wasn't until later in the game, when the entire defense started slacking, that Vincent gave up big plays.

I’d play him against A&M and rest Delpit for the money games.
Oh, and there ain’t going to be a redshirt for Mo Hampton. He will be gone in three in one sport or the other.

Remember that was Arkansas.
Their QBs and offense are HORRIBLE.

Right.
He's got the athleticism and bat speed to be a big time baseball draft pick if he gets anywhere near his ceiling on the diamond.

He must’ve done pretty well he was SEC freshman of the week.

Stevens is practically a linebacker. With chaisson at OLB with Queen and Phillips in the middle allows Stephens and Delpit to blitz/ cover. This helps disguise your blitz package as they could come from five different guys with Hampton, Stingley, and Fulton in coverage. You could also blitz a corner occasionally and even Hampton. It just makes sense with Divinity our. Plus you bring in Brooks occasionally to run a true 3-4. You can add a nickel corner like also in passing downs.

I'm cool with this, Hampton didn't show many signs of being confused and out of place.

Man, this has been missing this year, and under Aranda actually. Saban blitzes his DBs and LBs off the edge about 6 or 8 times a game to great effect. Remember the play when Clyde did the spin move in the backfield then waltzed into the end zone against Bama? That was a DB coming free off the edge. It worked great, too, but was defeated by a great individual effort. For some reason, Aranda does not employ this much.

Knowing Hampton has experience allows you to play them both at the same time. Howeve Aggie offense is so much more dangerous and can beat you deep much easier than Arkansas

It most certainly did not work great.
