Betty Virginia, The Duck Pond, Strawns, Monjunis, Nicky's, Sci-port, Red River Revel, Mudbug Madness, and Holiday in Dixie are all still here.

I'll add: Cargill Park, Close Encounters BMX, Hot Wheels, OTTO's, TG&Y, Dominic's, Boothill Speedway (Technically Greenwood), Sunset Acres, in addition to the others mentioned.

saw pictures of the Shreveport captains stadium it’s all abandoned and overgrown with vines. Damn crime that is how did that happen? Couldn’t the city maintain it and let little league or bossier community college use it? I guess that’s my nomination the Shreveport captains

I contacted the Shreveport City Council a couple of years ago about the stadium and asked why they couldn't use it for High School and College Baseball tournaments. Basically wanted to know what their plans were for it. I was told it was over run with bats (the flying kind) now and they had caused so much damage it wasn't worth repairing. So, basically they're just going to let it rot to the ground. I grew up here but this place has become a shite hole. I live outside the city limits thankfully, but Shreveport politics and politicians for the most part, suck.

that's a shame, that place was actually fairly historic, the Babe Ruth/Lou Gehrig era Yankees played there, yours truly jacked a few over the scoreboard in left, spent many, many nights watching the Caps play there, quite a number of big league superstars came through there

And no one has mentioned KEEL radio. This was our go to growing up before FM. Lovable Larry Ryan in the morning smoking cigs before going to school.

I think jokes were on Thursday. They were pretty edgy. I also think he went on to buy whatever station he’s on now.
