You'll never know what would have happened at LSU had they been hired.

What we do know. Coach O and this LSU team is #1 and look like the best team in the entire nation.
We can give credit where it is due without throwing shade at anyone else.

I think that RTWFY wasn’t just meant for Alabama. I think deep down that frick you was meant for everyone that doubted him and that’s totally understandable.

Coach O deserves all the credit in the world for rolling out the red carpet for Burrow and going out and getting a guy that 99% of this board, including myself, had never heard of in Joe Brady.

Without those 2 moves lsu is not where we are today.

Without a doubt. He definitely has an eye for talent.

And I'd guess most outside of Columbus had no idea who Burrow was.

I'm quite happy with sitting down for a big plate of crow every Saturday as long as he keeps this up. Never been so happy to be so wrong.

Coach E should get some credit in hiring Brady,Coach O said Brady gave presentation to E in which O wasn't there and Coach E said we should hire the guy. Not many people, would be willing to hire a guy who could be a likely threat to his job in the future.

We aren't the players, it doesn't matter if we don't take it one game at a time...i can't understand that line of thinking

I read somewhere that Ensminger is very much a team-first guy and doesn’t need his ego stroked. Just a solid guy who’s comfortable in his own skin. Such people are truly rare.

I hate when people do this.

It's "we" -- as in our program. Yes, "our" program. We're emotionally invested. And for many of us, we've been Tiger fans since birth, and graduated from LSU, which is "our" university.

You really want us to refer to the LSU football team as "they?" No, it's "we."

That's what sports is about -- people buy into teams and are emotionally connected, even though we don't suit up on Saturdays. Otherwise, it's just a bunch of guys in colorful jerseys playing a game on a field.

But you understand it's far more than that.

No doubt, but without those two moves we’re still far better than we were. If we are running an offense 20% more progressive than what we finished with last year, and with this much improved offensive line and receiver corps, we’re not winning the natty, but we’re NY6 level.

Orgeron has done a lot to lift the talent level on this team. We have that 2018 class to metabolize, but 2017, 2019, and 2020 (projected) are elite.

Like the "frick 'Dem" after the Auburn last year, I think this is correct. It's not about Alabama, per se, but about their Louisiana resident front-runner so-called fans who use O's personality against him in recruiting. He's tired of hearing native Louisianians yell "Roll Tide". That's the point of telling the Bear Bryant story last week: If you are from Louisiana, LSU is your school even if you didn't go there.

I'm not sure I can remember a situation where the coach of the team was as much a fan of the team first.

ok, but dig a little deeper.

Jimbo's losses are to Clemson, Auburn, and Bama. They also have to play Georgia and LSU. They'll probably end up with 5 losses, with an absolutely brutal schedule.

Herman has lost to LSU, Oklahoma, and TCU.

Context is often needed, beyond just raw numbers.

In that case, it belongs to Joe Burrow.
