CFP - Teams that will get in over Alabama

By ranking Georgia at #4 the CFP committee has already shown us that at when the final rankings come out, quality wins will matter over bad losses. I say this because Georgia has one of the worst losses in the top 25.
If any one of these teams finishes the season with one loss, wins their conference and does not get in over Bama, then the committee’s decision to rank Georgia over Bama this week makes no sense.
Georgia
Oklahoma
Baylor
Oregon
Utah
Penn State
Minnesota
These teams finishing with one loss, while winning their conference, will mean they have beaten a top 10 team doing it.
ETA- In the event of a 2 loss big 12 or pac 12 conference champion -the controversy would be, in one of these scenarios, that you could have both Alabama and Ohio st. with one loss and either both out or the committee potentially deciding between the two.

I agree. When the committee was formed there was talk about what they were trying to accomplish, and it was clear that keeping the game relevant all around the country was part of it. Bama might make it in this year, but that's only if there is complete chaos. I'd guess they have about a 40% chance.

The problem is that the playoff committee isn’t just inconsistent in their criteria from year to year, they’re inconsistent from week to week.

Minnesota beat Penn St. why are they missing from your list?

Because if Minnesota finishes with one loss it means they didn’t win their conference.
And before you ask Baylor could finish with one loss and still win their conference.
ETA - You guys are right Minnesota can finish with one loss and when their conference.

What year would you say they failed to get the correct four teams in the playoffs? I have asked this multiple times and I haven't gotten one answer yet, but people constantly pump this narrative.

That is incorrect. Minnesota can lose a game and still win their conference.

Wait. They can’t lose @ Iowa and then beat tOSU in the Conf. CG?

I agree. I think they’ve gotten it right every year. They do, however, do a pretty terrible job at explaining their reasoning. And it’s because the insist on using “best” instead of “most deserving.” Changing to the correct verbiage would help tremendously.

And I agree with you, but those teams will each have the opportunity to prove themselves in the coming weeks with tough opponents. Bama has coastal Carolina.
A quality loss should never be a substitute for a quality win. Ever.

Several years they’ve put in teams that everyone knew would get plastered, and also this committee is not the same one as past years

Ok, then specifically tell me which teams they put in that didn't belong and the teams who should have been in the playoffs instead.

I’ve acknowledged my mistake and added them to the list. I do think they would be deserving if they beat Ohio st,, or Penn state (twice). They would have better wins than Alabama.

There has been talk of LSU being a lock even if they lose the SECCG, but I don't believe it. They need to beat Georgia to control our own destiny.

If Minne beats Wisconsin and their only loss is against OSU in the title game, they would have a much better resume than Bama and would deserve to get in before them.

They have a 10% chance per some website that was posted this week
