Besides the obvious willingness to change the identity of our offense and hire great coordinators, one thing Ive noticed is player development. A big conversation with les was we get all this top talent but still don’t have the success we expect. With CEO, these underrated and mid level recruits are now superstars in college football, 2 star and 3star guys are balling out. Yes getting Burrow here changed everything but I really think Ed and the coaches he surrounds the players with are doing a better job of developing talent.

Les would have similar offensive success this year as lsu HC if Burrow was his QB

he would have trusted burrow and the WRs

Another big difference is O actually follows through with what he says he is going to do

At first I thought he was just being a salesman and telling the fan base what they wanted to hear. Glad to be wrong on that note.

I think Les had a streak of defiance and arrogance. He wanted to prove to people that his style of football could make it consistently and we saw the end results.

It worked against many teams, but to beat a team like Bama, you’ve got to be able to have a balanced attack.

Ed was a previous failure. About to be fired. He had to throw a hail Mary. He was running out of people to point his fingers at. Landed Brady and saved his arse.

Miles had skins on the wall and felt he was bulletproof and wouldn't be touched. Plus he had many millions in the bank. O had more urgency.

Uh, everything? Lol, Les wouldn't have this team playing like they are right now. Hell, we wouldn't even have gotten burrow if miles was still here. We would have lost a couple of games already and looking to play in the outback bowl or something like that. O just manages this program and makes better hires etc...than miles did. Give me O over miles anyday, even in the best years of miles career here, he only won by out talenting teams, then when we played teams like bama or others with similar talent, we got exposed. His just too simple and too old school. His perspective on what a football team should look like and the schemes that should be implemented to suit our talent was just way subpar for the talent we always have. Miles squandered way too much talent and pretty much let his hard headed stubborn approach to offense cost LSU a couple of national titles in his time here. We had national title caliber talent on alot of his teams, but he mismanaged them and we underachieved big-time. huge difference between miles and O. Also, Les was notorious for poor game management and clock management, poor qb evaluation and zero progression in their skills when they actually got on campus. Our qbs never seemed to be worth a shite. Lol, that should never happen here, we should have qbs begging to run our offense with the talent they would have to utilize at LSU. O is the better head coach without a doubt. I'm glad we don't have miles, but, though he underachieved here, I'm grateful for what he did here.

Eh CEH was a baller in high school.

Won that’s state championship against Rummel for Catholic.

He’s just short. If he’s 5’ 10” he isn’t a 3*

And if Jordan Jefferson didn’t look like a JUCO guy till June before his freshmen season he is probably a higher rated recruit too.

The big difference is the offense.

Joe didn’t look this good last year.

It’s wasn’t a shite ton of player development between year 4 and 5 that got him to this point.

It’s pretty simple, both recruit at high levels at LSU

Miles philosophy after 2008 was play to not beat yourself
CEO plays to win, whatever that takes
CEO embraces risk vs reward

Like a lot of high level CEOs that are more concerned with maintaining instead of growing CLM tried to manage all risk, that is impossible to do consistently

At some point you gotta let the players go make plays

Les won a NC, 2 SEC Championships, 3 SEC W titles and beat Bama 5 times vs 1?

In short.... Let's not start crowning anything yet.

The difference is simple to explain and absolutely irrefutable:

-- Coach Miles's teams were rather undisciplined and often looked like a poorly-coached team.

-- Coach O's team this season looks disciplined and well-coached.

Final point: Coach Miles would not have Joe Brady helping with the Offense.

Les deserves a ton of criticism for failing to adapt/overcome on the offensive side of the ball, but this is simply hogwash.

We've always had underrated guys ball out under each staff.
