How would you keep out a 11-1 Pac 10, conference champion...

from the playoffs. Both Oregon and Utah will probably win out and both be 11-1. They will play for the title. One will finish 12-1 and both are in top ten. Either way, it will be a top ten win for either and that is much more than Bama.
Conference champ vs no for Bama! Top ten win vs no for Bama.
There would be a revolt, especially from west coast press, if the committee dissed either team as 12-1

Especially Oregon because if they do, why would any PAC 12 team schedule a legit OOC opponent ever again?

They both gotta win out first

Yep, but it would be after the fact.
And used as an excuse to expand to 6 so the inbreeds can always get a mulligan.

They won’t so all you chicken littles scared of Bama should at least wait to freak out until both of them lose again

Oregon as the PAC-12 champion will not be left out

I think that the current 4 team format has some legit flaws, but what you pointed out in the sad truth. If the playoff expands to 6 or 8 teams, Bama will get in EVERY year, even with their weak arse schedule.

Sec will not have 2 teams in the playoffs unless LSU loses to Georgia.

If LSU loses to UGA, I don’t see 2 1-loss SEC teams making the final 4.
They would put the 1 loss conference champions in ahead of 1 loss LSU.
Or should, anyways.

I agree with you. But what team with legit playoff aspirations would schedule a game with Alabama during the regular season? They are always gonna play a weak non-conference schedule I think.

I agree, but how about this: Auburn beats UGA, then UGA beats us in Atlanta? 2 loss conference champ or LSU?

I am perfectly fine with them expanding to 6 teams with conference champion being a requirement.
I would like to see the top 2 seeds get a bye. The top 4 seeds each get a playoff home game. Then we play the NC at a neutral site. That would be 10 times better than what we have now. It solves the majority of the subjective eye test problem by forcing the winning of a conference and it creates a desire for a strong schedule to get the better seeding.
I don’t believe in the non conference champion in the playoffs or NC as it cheapens the whole season.

Would that be your argument had LSU lost Saturday?

I want ONE SEC team in the cfp...LSU. The rest of the SEC can go straight to HELL.

To accept that you’ve gotta come out of your conference to play for a natty.
MNCs won by non-conference-champs are invalid.

Playoff committee stated in their original mission statement that they would give an edge to Conference champions over other teams...but they bailed on that from the get go.
It's still the bullshite, subjective eye-test instead of something tangible...winning on the field.
Bama will play a two-game schedule, lose 1 of those games, miss the SEC Championship game and get into the playoffs as the #4 team.
It's so absurd, and turning people away from the mockery that has become this sport. They said they wanted a playoff but it's still just votes.
A REAL playoff takes the Champions from each Conference. That's a simple take ESPN bias and human votes and eye-tests out of it...win your Conference and you're in.

This shouldn’t be at all controversial. Like I said, any “national championships” won by teams who didn’t win their conference are entirely mythical.
