We all should have seen this coming.

Just finished watching Saints game. Whatever. LSU beat Bama. I’ll take that exchange 100/100 times. Pretty sure in the grand scheme of things this will be an anomaly. Just sucks it happened against the Falcons.
The Saints defense played at a championship level without Brees because they knew they had to. They sustained that level against Arizona when Brees came back (because he was basically a game time decision) and we beat Arizona by 30 as a result. Then of course we go into the off week thinking we are invincible and unbeatable. Atlanta also had their off week last week and by all accounts had a “new dawn, new day” mentality because they were so bad.
Then during the game today Lattimore goes out with injury, Julio then breaks it for 60 yards on the very next play after being shut down the whole game prior, then all of a sudden you have your perfect storm.
Hopefully the loss wakes us up. This is still the NFL and any team can win at any time. The Saints loss today was all mental. We are the better team on paper but we didn’t act like it.
Given the circumstances, shame on us. We all should have seen this coming.

got it, you think its ok that professionals who get paid millions to perform only one day out of the week, its ok if they show up not ready to play of even have a plan to play
every year its the same BS, saints come off a bye week and play like drunk hungover frat boys who dont even remember the play book and the coaches have no game plan and take their best player (kamara) out of the game and dont even use him

No, we should not have seen the Saints basically throwing a game coming. We should not expect that.

No one said it’s okay, but shite happens, and there’s plenty of time to right the ship.
It’s not like the team somehow got worse than they were a month ago.

Sometimes shite happens, this is the NFL. Three 1-7 teams won today.

I disagree. IMHO, you are rationalizing. The Saints now have some noticeable weaknesses that are going to be exploited.

You forgot Payton was consumed with getting engaged late this week too!
