ALso, take a look at Kentucky. More than 20k people voted for governor than they did for attorney general. Both races were on state-wide ballots, I'm supposed to believe that people cast a vote for governor but didn't take the time to vote for AG? In an election decided by 4k votes, questions need to be asked.

Ask Greg Abott how weird that is. Not every loss is voter fraud, baw

I do find it hilarious how the media is now referring to VA as the "deep south." You'd have thought Alabama or Louisiana flipped blue.

Why is that difficult to believe? Some people only vote in the big race. Apparently Bevin is a love him or hate him sort of guy and will get votes against due to spite. The candidates in the AG race aren't. Fewer care about AG regardless.

More Republicans voted in Virginia than Democrats, yet somehow they lost both chambers in the state government.

The reverse has happened with Dems getting more votes in states like PA, but GOP getting most of the seats. That's how single-member district voting works.

If I don’t know enough about a set of candidates running for a particular office I won’t cast a vote, even if on same ballot as another set of candidates I may be voting for.

I can only assume without looking at each individual race or registration statistics but it could simply be that Dems outnumber GOP 2-1 in urban areas while GOP outnumbers Dems 2.1-1 in rural districts.

Regarding Kentucky, you live in LA and forgot 2015? Every down ballot race was GOP in a landslide yet we still ended up with JBE. When you get down to the state level personality > politics and when you don’t know anything about those down ballot guys, you just vote politics.

So, Republicans actually turned out more votes than Democrats, in a state that has went Democrat in the last few elections....isn't this good news for Trump? How do these numbers compare to previous elections? Thanks

I can't envision someone taking the time to vote, then casting a ballot for one candidate while abstaining from voting for others - particularly in statewide elections.

That's probably one of the least likely scenarios.
You can't be serious. In Louisiana last month 1,343,478 votes were cast for governor. 1,286,472 were cast in the Secretary of state race. That's 57,006 votes fewer.

In 2015 in La. 1,152,789 votes were cast for governor and 1,043,306 were cast for Secretary of State. That's 109,483 fewer votes. The AG race in 2015 was hotly contested and it got 68,000 fewer votes than governor.

Right? Who claims Virginia is "deep south?" Is Washington DC part of the "deep south?"

Really have to hate that for Virginia Republicans. Democrats are going to destroy that state.
