Do we move Fulton down and play Flott on the outside or roll the dice with K Vincent. I think Vincent guarding a talented slot receiver is the absolute weak link of this defense. We can stop the run and limit down field throws on the sideline. The slot, however, scares me to death. He has been serviceable this season, but has given up lots of big third down conversions.

I think we can learn a lot from the way Auburn defensed us actually. We won’t create any pressure up front but knocking a guy off his route early could help a lot.

I’ll let the coaches decide who plays where though. Conversations like this are dumb.

I still have more faith in Vincent then FLott on the outside no disrespect to the kid but those are so grown arse men at wideout and supposedly KV is the 2nd fasted dude in college football so we'll see

Flott would get worked on the outside. Not a knock on him, but he’s a small freshman and would be going up against NFL ready talent.

Kary Vincent is your only option.

Auburn and Kevin Steele definitely showed the blue print to stopping the quick slant from the slot with the 4-1-6. The scheme was pretty effective while having a DLine who can pressure the QB and a LB with the delayed blitz. However, the running lanes were massive and a skilled QB like Burrow or Tua can still eat against that defense. LSU had 500 yards and would have scored more without two key turnovers. I expect LSU to remain within its defensive scheme except with a extra safety or nickel in the place of a LB. If our DLine can remain gap sound and continue to effectively stop the run, Alabama will be in big trouble. Containment of Tua is more important, we will get coverage sacks with his inability to scramble on that bum ankle. Just my opinion, but you are absolutely right, let Aranda do what he is paid to do.

Drop Stevens and Delpit into the box and have Vincent play over the top.

I like the idea of bringing Stevens down into the box over the slot and backing Vincent out. I think Vincent is a better zone defender than a man defender. As fast as he is, his hips are tight which is why he has a tough time man up on the slot. Over the top allows him to read the QB and use his speed to track down balls. Seems like this is what we did in the Utah St game.

There's no team in the country that will cover those receivers all game. With that being said, I think you see LSU being as unpredictable as possible. I don't expect any one DB covering the slot the entire game.

Vincent is an absolute disaster. Can't cover or tackle. Saban will throw at him ALL DAY!!!

Our DL can’t generate as much pressure as Auburn

I would man the slot (press receiver) and run zone with other corners and lbs. need to have multiple coverages to confuse Tua. Similar to Clemson. Think we will see this and looks similar to Auburn vs LSU.

The problem with mixing zone and man is that DB’s can get confused and blow coverages, especially in a hostile environment. Everyone has to be 100% certain of their job and everyone else’s job at all times or it’s an easy 6, especially with the speed Bama has.

I've never seen such a supposedly fast football player get beat as often as he does.
