How do you see Aranda defending the Alabama receivers?

The Waddle kid is down right scary fast...so I wouldn't assume Stingley is on Jeudy when we play man coverage.

Do you think we're going to play a lot of zone? Aranda seems to be ok with letting the underneath stuff happen in the first half then he tightens things up in the 2nd half...is that how you see it?

On that note, our scoring has dropped since teams are playing more zone....which of course is making the running a little easier.

Both teams like to throw the ball over the middle of the field...

Regrettably, I see Aranda dropping 8 into coverage. I also see them picking on Kary Vincent.

Probably man coverage, I think he’s got a step on Jeudy.

A lot of nickel and dime with 8 in coverage

Speed aside, Jeudy is their best player and Stingley will be lining up with him.

That's how Tua seemingly gets most of his passing yards.

6 yard slant, and it's off to the races for 70 yards.

The key to stifling Bama's offense will be tackling.

I have a feeling we will be cursing Delpit's name multiple times for missing tackles that wind up turning into a 15 yard pass play.

As long as Smith is decapitated, I don’t care.

i hope they play a combo of man/zone...switching things up often. Tua tends to throw to the man he has already decided on before the snap. It works a lot against most teams. Gotta neutralize the quick short passes (many behind LOS) to WRs resulting in big yards after the catch. That usually requires more zone.

I hope on third down he press/ bump and runs. If they get free releases it’s over anyway.

Waddle is not really a big part of their offense
It’s jeudy and smith mostly with Ruggs as their big play guy
Ruggs only has 5 more catches than waddle but twice as many yards
Jeudy and Smith have almost twice the receptions than the other 2

I have zero confidence in "soft, drop 8, Aranda. If we play scared they will bust the clock.

No one has really shut down this group of receivers, and they're all a matchup problem. Pressure on a less mobile Tua and disrupting the short passing lanes seems like the best game plan

Whatever they do they must tackle. Can’t let a 5 yard slant or crossing route turn into a 60 yd touchdown

I think we play some exotic looks that are mix of man and zone with a couple of free blitzes...for example come out with 3 DL, 3 LB, 5 DB (nickel) and rush the 3 DL, 1 LB, and the slot DB and a safety...remaining safety reverts to cover 1, DBs on the outside play man, 2 LB dropping in coverage. This should force a quick slant in which the LB should pick or knock the ball loose on the slot receiver or a go route by the slot that is covered by the remaining safety...Fulton and Stingley have to hold their own, other LB is either on TE or RB or delayed blitz depending on look he sees..basically disguise the defense to force the throw you want them to make and make the play...One Team One Heartbeat!!! Just do your job!!

My biggest concern is Aranda having our nickle corner(Vincent) playing 5-7 yards off the slot WR. Ehlinger/Devin Duvernay abused our defense from the slot.
