The key is to show similar looks, but do something completely different out of it. If you can do that multiple times with success, you can confuse them enough to come back to the original play late in the game.

This. We have to play fast.

The formula is there. Dabo showed us how to game plan for Saban.
Dabo had better talent. Ole Miss and aTm are better, more realistic formulas for beating Saban

Toss dive.

They will never know what hit them.

Ole Miss is the model to follow. They seemed to man handle Saban those years. Running needs to be side to side and passing needs to be vertical and exploiting their linebackers...

They do have a scheme that has the defensive backs and linebackers play man until the first break and then zone after. It works because they usually have a very strong pass rush.

They take away the short stuff with man to man. Then they are in zone. Confusing the QB presnap and first after snap read. Creates interception opportunities

No doubt Brady E and Burrow have been watching film over and over. Of course Burrow saw it last year. He just had no way to respond.

Again the Bama pass rush has not shown to be quite as good this year.

You can also assume they have game planned how to counter. So we need to throw some new stuff at them, especially in situational football.
Better have multiple plays that are new. If Saban sees something he's never seen, he will call timeout. Better have a different new play when we comeback to the line.

His little head will explode.

Yes. And if the officials stop the clock to reset a ball for no reason like in the UTk - Bama LSU nation would explode like Pruitt did on the sidelines.

Stealing the signs from the sidelines is also a factor. You can be sure some analyst has it all broke down by the first quarter. Part of the reason bama is a good second half team. The faster you go, the less it matters.

Well Saban has to throw away his 9+ years of the same ole LSU offense tapes.

So we have that going for us

This is beyond true. Saban was the maddest person in the SEC when Les Miles got fired. They they tried to negative recurit Coach O. This is the first year I believe LSU has the gump brain trust worried, because they cannot just dust off the game plan from the 2012 national championship game and make tweaks.

fact that Les Miles and Coach O teams did not seem to game plan for Saban in previous years.

Last season and 2016 this is true. In 2017 Canada came up with several plays that had the bama defense confused and coverage broke down. We just didn't have a QB that could get wide open receivers the ball. I mean, Etling literally choked. Burrow will NOT CHOKE! And if SE and O allow Brady to scheme before and during the game, I'd be willing to bet he can do the same thing. But if SE panics and starts getting conservative then that will neutralize the Brady Effect during the game.

The first year Clemson beat bama in the CFP they did because Watson would drop back to pass and then tuck and run. It wasn't designed, it was improvising. But saban didn't see it coming because it wasn't part of Clemson's scheme, it was just a game time decision. I'm sure Dabo told Watson, "if you drop back and everybody is covered, don't hold the ball, just find a seam in the defense and run the ball." And last year it was finding things the bama defense had problems with. And it worked wonderfully for Clemson. Canada had the ability to deceive the bama defense and get some guys open, I think Brady has this ability as well. But will SE and O let him do his thing? IDK, I sure hoe so. And another thing, I do believe LSU has held back some plays on offense since early in the season. I believe they have some plays that will confuse saban because he hasn't seen them run those plays this season. Man, I'm getting nervous just typing about the game.

Just play 2019 LSU football. You lose when you try to do something different.

I agree with this as long as you have thoroughly self-scouted your tendencies.

For those that don't remember, or weren't born yet, Saban cost us vs Auburn in 2004. Also finale in Arkansas game in LR, and definitely at Cap One Bowl. Only one perfect human being..and he ain't Him.

The look that he hasn't seen is getting beat at the los. That's the look that he needs to see.

Correction: the refs will call a timeout for him. You must not have watched the Tenn game when the refs stopped a play for no reason when Tenn lined up in a wildcat and Saban’s D wasn’t ready for it.
