They can get the running game going and Burrow takes what the defense gives him.

Everyone is thinking Burrow is going to put up monster numbers and win in a shoot out, where I think if he will nickle and dimes us down the field would be enough for a W.

Bama has a very solid defense on the back end that does not give up alot of big plays. They do however give up the 5-10 yard passes way to often. So patience will be key to victory for Burrow and LSU.

Bama has looked awful against the run this year. Never seen a Saban coached D give up what seems to be 6-7 yards a carry. Got to get CEH and company going and keep them involved all 4 quarters.

If Burrow and the RBs numbers look anywhere close to this.. They win

Burrow 25-33 295 yards 3 TDs
RBs 30 attempts for 150 2 TDs

Excited for a what should be a great game and expect it to be less of a shot out then most are thinking.

34-31 Alabama

Our run game is not what it use to be. Our Oline is finally coming together after switching the front 5 around most of the first 8 games. Not very impressed with the running game this year. Very avgerage.

It will be interesting to see how Bama matches up. AU went with basically a 3-1-7 defense. That scheme essentially begged LSU to run the ball (and they eventually did with success), but I suspect AU felt their D-lineman were so good individually that they could mitigate some of the deficiencies created when they gave up numbers along the front. I don't know if Bama's DL this year is good enough to do that.

I kind of feel like Bama is going to take more of a Miss. St/Texas approach and blitz Burrow often. MSU had some success with it. Texas had none. But neither of those teams have as good of players as Bama

Alabama defense this year has been a head scratcher. I don't know if Saban is hiding some of his packages due to not needing them or showing his hand just yet or due to keeping it simple for the young guys. We barely dail up any blitz plays and seem to just line up and play not to get beat deep and keep everything in front of us.

2 keys:

1. LSU O-line has to keep Burrow upright. With time, he will carve up Bama secondary.

2. LSU HAS to tackle well. Been a problem all season. Missed tackles v. Bama WRs = TDs.

Well thought out logical conclusion.

Never the less . If this game is won by LSU it will be won in the mind sets of the coaches and the players . LSU has lost to Bama not always because of BAMA But because we did not think we could pull it off .
If O has them mentally prepared LSU will win this game.

If the coaches don’t coach in fear. Which it seems they’ve done for the last several years

This is stupid. We've been losing to Bama because they've had far more talent and better coaching.

This is my take as well. We've never been able to keep the QB clean against Bama, no matter who it is.

And those Bama WRs are fire after the catch

Agree with this, but it's been because of scheme, or lack thereof....not

Bama has and has had more overall talent than LSU for 7 years. This year is closer.

But to beat a team with more talent, you have to out scheme them and execute. We've done neither, hence...joe brady
