Why hasn't Pence been attacked by dems

I'm sure he has, but do they really want him president if they somehow impeach Trump? Or have they not thought this far?

I've never understood this either, although some of them float the idea that he must have been involved in whatever it is they are impeaching over -- so impeach Trump, ya gotta impeach Pence too.

Pence is a pussy and they know they could control him. Trump has changed Washington and if we can get him for four more years he may change it for a while.

I agree w you. Idk what caused TDS, but the left and groups of the left hate pence more IMO. Thus why curiosity strikes wondering if they've thought this through. Pence doesn't have the media against him - yet.

Yes, they want him to be president.
Pence is a normal GOP establishment guy. He's not going to roll over and play socialist for them, but he's also going to play ball with them on the border, foreign policy and all the usual GOP controlled opposition games. They'll get their demographic displacement-driven inevitability in the electoral college just fine as long as the GOP doesn't run another candidate that takes the border seriously for about 10-15 years.
They'd even take another loss in 2020 to a Pence/X ticket if that's what it took, just to be able to say that Trump was repudiated and that MAGA is dead.

Democrats know if they try and remove Pence also, that would mean President Pelosi which absolutely no Senate Republicans will support.
However, Senate Republicans can absolutely be talked into a President Pence. Hell, Pence may even secretly support this. He wants to be President but knows he could never win primary or general. This is his only shot.

OK, I don't know or believe that. However, I have seen accusations about him that are bad in the worst way. I have NO IDEA if he is a good guy or a bad guy.

Trump has done nothing by the book is the short answer. Usually the VP in any administration is the attack dog and tackling dummy for the opposition. Most presidents try to remain above the fray and let the VP do the dirty work. Well, that all ended in January 2017.
Trump prefers to be his own press officer and his own attack dog, and draws so much attention by being constantly in conflict with anyone and everyone, that Pence has little role in the traditional public relations work that VPs do.

If they get Trump rolling downhill then they will pounce on Pence. I already hear rumblings about wanting a transcript of his interactions on the Ukraine matter. For the sake of this discussion I'll assume Trump engaged in behavior he shouldn't have. If Pence is culpable in any way he'd need to resign so that another VP can be chosen. They can't leave half the country vulnerable to actions against Trump and Pence.
Edit: I can envision the Senate bouncing Trump but never doing the same to Pence. This discussion is hypothetical.

Need a majority vote of Senate and Reps to confirm a new VP. If trump is on the ropes and Pence resigned, they’d slow walk a replacement vote to have a vacant VP office upon Trump’s hypothetical removal. Then President Pelosi.
