First off, no currently serving officer is going on national television and talking bad about the Commander in Chief regardless of who it is while risking their career. Little thing called the Uniform Code of Military Justice has some say-so about that.

These retired/former officers are a minority of the total officers that separate from the service and more than likely are benefiting from the government teat as their civilian counterparts. For instance, a lot of these guys that get buddy-buddy with contractors and how they get cushy positions in many of these companies who continue the military industrial complex.

If you honestly think there aren't any self-serving individuals who are serving or have served, I have some swampland to sell you.

First off, you’re doing exactly what I said y’all always do so nice job there haha.

Secondly, Vindman isn’t retired. He is still an active member of our armed services.

You really are a Masochist aren't you?

Benedict Arnold was a Decorated Serviceman as well. What's your point.

I think my point is pretty clear. Trumpers do the same thing for every single person who is not on board with trump. Every. Single. Time.

Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman earned the Purple Heart, a Ranger tab and the Combat Infantryman Badge, all before he served on the Joint Chiefs of Staff as a Russia expert

No shite Sherlock.

Did you happen to gloss over my last point?

Yep. It could never EVER be that loose cannon Trump doesn't care about wrecking norms, regardless of his actual intent.

You are right, that could never be the motivation.

Yet, they’re still all connected. You can call it five degrees of separation or conspiracy theory all you like.

Unfortunately we live in an era where if you want the truth, you have to do your own research. If our media were interested in reporting the truth, none of it would be necessary.

Now, before you claim myself and people like me just don’t like the truth as it’s reported, ask yourself a few questions:

Why would the Cohen/Manafort lobbying cases not wrap up Podesta and Weber? Podesta group shut down (which is the lobbying equivalent of the Yankees shuttering their doors without so much as a comment) but they skated for the exact same unregistered lobbying that got the Trump-connected folks tossed in jail.

Remember the Mueller investigation? Ole Honest Bob was gonna get Trump for taking a $150,000 speaking fee from Viktor Pinchuk, a Ukrainian no less. Meanwhile, they completely ignored the fact that John Kerry also spoke at Pinchuk’s event and that Pinchuk is much more closely bound to the Clintons than he ever was Trump.

Which, after typing it, I realize is perhaps one of the least alarming things about the media’s treatment of the SC... or the SC overall for that matter.

Tl;dr: just because it’s not on MSNBC, doesn’t mean it’s conspiracy theory.

Benedict Arnold (1741-1801) was an early American hero of the Revolutionary War (1775-83) who later became one of the most infamous traitors in U.S. history after he switched sides and fought for the British. At the outbreak of the war, Arnold participated in the capture of the British garrison of Fort Ticonderoga in 1775. In 1776, he hindered a British invasion of New York at the Battle of Lake Champlain. The following year, he played a crucial role in bringing about the surrender of British General John Burgoyne’s (1722-92) army at Saratoga. Yet Arnold never received the recognition he thought he deserved. In 1779, he entered into secret negotiations with the British, agreeing to turn over the U.S. post at West Point in return for money and a command in the British army. The plot was discovered, but Arnold escaped to British lines. His name has since become synonymous with the word “traitor.”

Can't believe you have the absolute truth printed yet the sheeple somehow downvote. Their heads are in the sand, very, very deep to not comprehend this fact.

I take their down votes as their submission.

Truthfully though, there’s not much they can say. I think most Americans know there’s something very rotten in the heart of American politics. Perhaps the greatest shame that can be heaped on our modern day media Is that they’ve allowed them selves to be contorted into propagandists instead of seekers of the truth. They traded in journalistic integrity for easy access to hot scoops. The 24 hour news cycle only exacerbated the problem.

It’s hard to expect much from people whose source of news comes from technocrats in Silicon Valley pumping stories devoid of fact checking and Filled with political talking points from either side.

The right thing for Vindman, or any actively serving officer to do in this situation, is to stay completely out of what is clearly a partisan political battle. That’s how a commissioned officer maintains his proper non-political role.

Haven’t seen this discussed anywhere: the NYT reported that Vindman had advised Ukrainian officials on how to “deal with” Rudy. How often do US army colonels advise foreign governments?

No, the NYT said Vindman had advised Ukrainian officials. I’m asking how normal is it for a US army colonel to directly give advice to foreign government leaders.
