In a nutshell, yes. Obama gets credit for green lighting the mission but the genesis of the intel went all the way back to 43's first term. I believe its why Obama quietly dropped the Gitmo closing talk before the next election and by that point he didn't have the power to change anything with the GOP running Congress (and a bit perhaps to help Hillary.)
The thing that gets me is the tick tock from green lighting it to spreading the info. Obama green lighted the mission then went to the WHCD and was brilliantly stone faced in a place with so many ears and eyes who didn't read a thing from his body language. Trump just stayed quiet except for a vague tweet that will be seen as memorializing the moment (much as that Pakastani guy did by unknowingly live tweeting it to the world.) People celebrated killing OBL while it seems the only thing close to it was the families coming out and thankful justice was served. Obama made a primetime press conference. Trump opted for one before half the country was awake. Both parties celebrated the OBL takedown. Pelosi threw a tantrum because she wasn't read in on it. The only thing we don't know is how this affects 2020.
...Oh and this whole thing allowed the Katie Hill scandal to quietly go away by her resigning hours later.

The only thing that killed OBL was kidney failure complications and it was years before he supposedly died protecting his vintage porn collection.
Every military and intelligence agency out there said this and with high certainty, including Mossad.
Coincidentally most of those reports and interviews stating this have been buried.

It is because the crazy short attention span of people these days. Things can disappear and be buried and no one ever notices because they are 3 or 4 things of faux outrage down the list.

A quick google search, and all I really found was a Snopes article on the matter, a bunch of conspiracy sites, and a report that the president of Pakistan stated that bin Laden may be dead of kidney disease. You know, the same Pakistan that harbored him for all those years.
