That would be great if it works out. Kids a talent. I work I highland springs and went to homecoming last night. Good get for us and it's nice to have a kid I can see that will be a tiger.

You have to be able to prove to the NCAA that the kid would have qualified and gotten said scholarship even if he didnt play the sport. If there's any doubt at all they can deny it.

It's because he already has enough college credit to come in classified as an academic junior. Very few kids are going to be in that position. That's a lot of AP classes.

I assume the only way that works is if the kid actually meets the standards for academic scholarships (not talking about just TOPS, which would only apply for in-state kids anyway).
There were some scholarships that were available to me back when I applied, including free laptops, housing and full tuition, and they had much more stringent GPA and ACT requirements. The vast majority of recruited athletes would never come close to them, nor would general applicants.
The part about it not counting towards the 25 scholarships is all speculation on my end though.
