Thanks, Scuba. Good stuff.

Wasn’t today’s scrimmage #14? You labeled yesterday’s scrimmage thread #13?

Is this type of thing (and the 2 strike drill yesterday) normal in fall scrimmages or is this something new that Eddie Smith is bringing to the party?

I don't recall seeing anything exactly like these last two scrimmages as to the emphasis on bunting and the two strike thing. They have emphasized bunting during batting practice and infield drills previously and I don't know if they have had batters take all pitches until they have two strikes before.

Thanks. Whatever the case, I like it. It wouldn't hurt us to get better at bunting and going deeper in counts. And doing it in simulated game conditions is better than batting practice.

Is this something the new hitting coach implemented?

Always appreciate your fall reports!

Cool. Instead of telling us you don’t care, write it on the inside of a plastic shopping bag and put it over your head so you can read it over and over until you fall asleep.

Quick question regarding the upcoming scrimmages. Has Maineri said anything about scheduling Jucos in the future? I saw a few other SEC schools are going to scrimmage the likes of San Jacinto. With the amount of talent those places put out, it seems like it would be a no brainer to get an easy scouting opportunity, plus sell the kids on the facilities we have.

Scheduling jucos for fall allowed games would be a good thing to do for recruiting purposes.
LSU pretty much has a built in juco recruiting base of Delgado and LSU E right in their backyard.

You would have to bring in a team from TX or Fla where the top juco players are. Mississippi JUCO baseball quality has gone down.
