The Astros look like a physically tired and emotionally exhausted team. They were pushed to the limit against Tampa and New York. JV got off of his schedule in Tampa and hasn’t really looked the same since. The hitting was suspect in that series and carried over to the Yankees series, where the pitching and a few timely homers got them through a physically and emotionally challenging 6-game series. I think they were still recovering from those first two series when the Nats popped them in the mouth in game 1 and they just haven’t recovered. They had very little time to do research on the Nats and it’s showing in the pitching approaches from both Cole and Verlander. And the hitting is really not much better than the first two series. Perhaps this off day and the first two games will lead to a better plan on how to attack the Nats’ hitters, but they’re not gonna come close to winning this series if a dramatic offensive shift doesn’t materialize. Cause this offensive void looks to be approaching one of the worst and longest periods of non production in the last three years.

I'm too old for that shite.

I'll get upset during the game, but once it's over, on with my life. Or with these last two games, off to bed.

Lol it sounds like he just is emotionally invested in the right things. I don’t understand people like you, who let things they can’t control get to them so much. Also, aren’t you a Baylor alum? Why does LSU losing bother you so much?

Yeah, me too. I can remember in my teens and twenties getting physically ill when one of my teams lost a big game. Also, none of my teams (other than LSU Baseball) won a championship until I was 40. I just don't let it affect me now the way I used to.

For the guy who said that you must be emotionally invested in the wrong thing to get upset about sports, who said there is a limited number of things that you can be emotionally invested in? You act like if someone gets upset about a game, they must not love their wife and/or kids.

Looks like Matt Thomas let Ole @astrosbaw get under his skin and went off on a tirade on his shitty radio show today. The pressure is building up to a point where the pipes are about to bust, baws. But is no surprise if you have been watching closely.

Verlander and Altuve

quote:

Justin Verlander, who took the loss in Game 2 after allowing four earned runs on seven hits, led the meeting.

"(Jose) Altuve got in there as well," Astros outfielder Josh Reddick said, according to Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle. "Those two said everything that needed to be said. There was nothing left that needed to be said."

JV and Altuve led it

Yo Chicken - your website clock is slow. One of your Gestapo lieutenants anchored my thread the other night because they thought I jumped the gun. I trust that you will discipline your staff accordingly until the issue is remedied. Hard labor could be an option.

Man, if they go 0-4 in the series, you're going to be skin and bone by next season.

Nothing to discuss. They're playing like they were when they left Baltimore and everybody was beating the shite out of them.
