Anyone feel kickoffs are now just a waste?

I suspect they are already considering moving the kick off spot back to the 20 yard line, or something like that.

Nope. The kickoffs were moved to enhance player safety. They wanted the return out of the game. It’s never coming back

This is exactly what CFB wants. No returns = safer for the players. Also, I don't think the numbers suggest even returning a kickoff. We fair catch outside of the endzone. Why not just start of the 25 while probably adding potentially one more play with your offense in vs a return team?

If they wanted more returns, they wouldn't have put in the fair-catch to limit high speed contact.

Your point is well taken. However not having kickoffs would also eliminate the possibility of on side kicks.
