But we are generally more aggressive in the 2nd half of games regardless.

This is the same shite I heard about Les and our past offense. “Coach knows best!”
For some reason, some posters idolize coaches just because they wear their team's colors.

You know, Curley Hallman was once our coach. Did these same posters scream "Coach knows best!" when Curley was here. Or when Lou Tepper destroyed DiNardo's career here?

Now, I'm not comparing O or Aranda to those guys, I'm just saying you can't blindly have complete faith in your coaches just because.... they're your coaches.

Last night, our defensive scheme in the first half was atrocious. We did adjust in the second half, but it's fair to question Aranda's gameplanning.

Im just pointing out UFs offensive production dropped in the second half as we made adjustments.

aggressive play definitely paid off.

yes, we were more aggressive in the second half and made plays when we needed to, but let's not overstate things.

UF's first drive of the third quarter was 75 yards for a TD. And they had 3 70+ yard drives in the second half.

Overall, UF has 252 yards in the first half and 205 in the second half. Better, but UF still moved the ball.

It's not an "adjustment" if you've done the same damned thing for 6 straight games.

We are PLANNING every game to take this approach.

Pro-Tip.

Next game. We are going to "adjust" in the 2nd half again.

You can't bring pressure for entire game and expect to win though. These are top tier coaches, they all have plays to beat certain defenses. If the blitz worked against every play, everyone would do it, it simply doesn't. We got beat a bunch while being aggressive as well, especially on 3rd and long plays.

Something that seems COMPLETELY lost on some.

"Hey, it worked for a few plays...……..why didn't we do it for 60 minutes!!!".

you can bring pressure a lot and force the QB to make quick decisions most plays.

Now sure, if you telegraph that you're bringing the same blitz every play, the offense will figure that out.

But if you disguise it and are unpredictable, you can bring pressure most downs.

No one is saying that.

Did you watch the OU game yesterday?

Definitely on long yardage passing situations.

Man frick you.

They had four 75 yard, 6+ minute drives in a row for scores. If you weren’t complaining about our defense, then you just don’t care.

I’ll give Aranda one thing, he made adjustments in the 3rd quarter and it worked. Should have done it earlier.

I don't see how anyone could argue against this.

agreed.

There's a faction of our fan base that is more loyal to the coaches than to the program.

It's very strange.

I wonder if they did the same thing when Curley Hallman was here.

No, no you can't, that alone makes you predictable. If it was that simple, everyone would do it. You are giving the offense a mismatch, and Florida has lived off of Rec vs LB in the slot, this year.

We were horrendous on 3rd down last night.

The criticism is warranted.

I was very pleased with the second half defense. But if we need second half adjustments that major against, Bama, we’ll already be too far behind.
