In a video, couple Adriana Jirjis-Alsaigh, 25, and Samar Alsaigh, from Macomb Township, Michigan, are filmed surrounded by their friends and family.

Adriana's sister and father organized a surprise gender reveal for the couple.

The surprise involved a helicopter flying over small pond in their backyard area.

The helicopter then dropped blue paint to signal the baby will be a boy.

'My dad always goes above and beyond,' Adriana said about the reveal It sparked some criticism from commenters online after going viral

This shite needs to stop. Use the money spent on the helicopter and start a savings account for the kid..

Gender Reveal parties have to be one of the dumbest things millenials do. Thanks social media

The only thing worse is the elaborate schemes that young men do who are too much of a pussy to ask a girl to a prom/dance/homecoming. In my day we walked up to a girl and asked her.

I’m proud to say I’ve never attended a gender reveal party. White women are getting out of control with this shite. I’ll bet the kid has a stupid arse travel ball name too

We had a gender reveal party. We prepared a blue piece of paper that said it’s a boy and a pink piece of paper that said it’s a girl. We gave them to the sonogram person and asked them to put it in an envelope.

Then we went to lunch with the in-laws, who were in town, and opened said envelope.

I’m happy to say I’ve never been to one either.

It’s a millennial thing.

They think their little Braylen will be so special.

Yeah, I learned this year that it is referred to as hoco.. And they do some type of thing using signs or something... I don't know.. One of my friend's oldest is a freshman and she got a date by some elaborate thing with a sign.

It's weird. Dudes don't just ask the girls, they do the homecoming thing, take pictures, etc.. Then everyone goes out and gets drunk anymore?

I’m surprised gender reveal parties are still legal since the baby hasn’t decided it’s gender yet

Sadly I have attended one.

They had a cake and when they cut it, it was the gender color. Is it really that big of a deal when you know its going to be one or the other? And does it matter if its a boy or girl? I really don't get it.

If I’m ever invited to one of these stupid parties, after I quit laughing, it’ll be a “That’s gonna be a no for me dawg.”

The term hoco referring to homecoming certainly isn’t new.

But it’s infinitely more funny when some little dork goes through all that trouble and gets rejected.
