U.S. stocks turned lower after a key gauge of manufacturing posted the weakest reading since the end of the last recession. Treasuries erased losses. The S&P 500 reversed all of its early gains to turn lower after the Institute for Supply Management’s factory index slipped to 47.8 in September, the lowest since June 2009, renewing concerns about an economic slowdown. The 10-year Treasury yield tumbled to 1.65%, while the dollar trimmed its earlier advance against major peers.

Not a good week for Trump. He lost 5% of his support in the Rasmussen poll since the calls for impeachment ramped up and now this data pointing toward an economic slow down.
He needs a win in the trade war ASAP or he risks losing support in the rust belt.

Think the global slowdown is starting to hit home
Luckily, other sectors of economy seem to be going strong

Ya it's Trump's fault that we are in a global economic slowdown. Holy frick some people need to step away from politics sometimes.

He will get a deal and declare it a win regardless of what the deal is.

Everything I posted was a fact. A win on trade particularly with China could help reverse a slowdown in manufacturing.
If he can’t end the trade war and you start to see massive layoffs in manufacturing then yes that could hurt his support in the rust belt because the media will hammer him on that

Remember when you said you were done with Trump after that omnibus bill was signed? lol.

Posting only good news creates a bubble among trump supporters. It also caused complacency.
Posting potential bad news or problems keeps pressure on the administration if his supporters think more needs to be done to fix a problem. Don’t write off everything to “fake news” and assume all is well.
Trump is doing a good job overall and the impeachment crap is made up bullshite even though it seems to have a slight negative affect on his approval ratings. But there are areas where he could improve, and trade is the biggest one. He can’t let the trade war cause a recession or major slowdown before 2020

We shouldn’t rush in a trade deal with China just because our manufacturing outlook went down....
It’s a long waiting game. And these involve a lot more variables.
