doesn't have any of those lame gimmicks. From the turnover chains/belts/shoulder pads and whatever else to the pom poms/cowbells and pretty much A&M's whole program, we get to enjoy football in its purest form and don't have to try and overcompensate with those silly toys.

You mean you don't want to see a turnover pirogue with a player push-polling it down the sideline every time we get an interception??

We're just known for being lout, being drunk and not giving a frick and, honestly, it's one of the main reasons why I love LSU and this fanbase

Was that LSU Softball #1 Superfan Deangelo Sanchez with the WWF belt in the stands at Vandy?

TV cameras panned to the guy after a TD and it did kind of look like him.

Can anyone confirm?

Eta: Thanks GCT.

Oh hell ya. Thank god! I hate those gimmick toys. Its like you have to give the kids a toy for doing what they supposed to do!

You’re going to get super defensive for me saying this but a designated jersey number for a player is just as gimmicky as a turnover chain.

Me personally, yes.

If the players want them however, I'd be good with that too.

Anything both 'artificial and ineffective' the players will see right though and it would then be a total gimmick and just trashy.

However, if it something the players get into. Go for it. They are, and are supposed to be, uber competitive. If such things either sustain that, or even ratchet it up even a little bit, even amongst themselves, it's a good thing.

Competitiveness and team members holding each other accountable (with or without the coaches) matters alot at this level. It was one of the secrets of success for Devin White. These gimmicks, if there's buy in, help with that.

Go to BDS or Jordan Hare and tell me those pompoms are lame. You dont see what they do in TV timeouts. They actually play music people like and sing along to and shake them dam pompoms. I tried to imagine myself as a recruit walking in there and seeing 100k people in sync.
Let it be said that I hate most everything Alabama but I must say I was impressed. And I dont ever want to hear Roll Tide again from those mofo’s

Yes we're glad so far. But we're just starting into the meat of the season so a lot of work to be done yet.

Hate to say it, but it is only a matter of time before the “kids” try to outdo the wannabes.
