What would it take to change the Texans to the Oilers?

It seems like their franchise needs a boost of energy. What would it take to bring back Luv ya blue?

I think that nickname sums up the Texas ethos. They think just using their normal state demonym means something. Of course to the rest of the country it's no different than having a team called the Denver Coloradans. Uh.. ok?

How about the NFL pulls an NBA and changes the Texans name to Oilers and reassigns all the Oilers history to the "New Oilers" franchise that didn't exist when all those things happened.

As a Texans fan I would love it, not a fan of the name. I don’t see the Titans ownership wanting to give it up or the stodgy McNairs being interested either

Their franchise needs a new owner. Its simple as that. They will always suck as long as a McNair descendant owns the team.

Was an avid Oilers fan growing up. When the oilers left, my fandom did too. Who knows, if they would have come back as the oilers with the love ya blue and all, I would maybe still be an Oiler fan today.
