Also I crunched the numbers earlier and believe the magic numbers are 1 and 2 for AL and MLB HFA.

You know that feeling as a kid when you are sick but you play through it anyway because you don't want to miss the game? Bregman gets it but Correa doesn't. All the talent in the world and none of the heart.

Speaking of Bregman the arguments for trout primarily center around WAR. Baseball reference now has trout at 8.3 and Bregman at 8.2.

The primary arguments I’ve seen for trout is that he is better and had he played the last month it would even be a question.

And the reason why they support that is muh WAR

And if Correa had played he’d be the mvp

If Springer plays 160 he's the MVP this season.

If Yordan played the entire season he would be mvp with an easy 50 bomb season. Maybe 60

I love Bergman don’t me wrong but if the angels called offering trout for bregman straight up, who says no?

The Astros say, how about Tony Kemp? The Angels say sure.

Then the Astros realize they traded Kemp for Maldonado. frick.

That would be pretty hysterical.

It would probably help his MVP push though.

I'd take Bregman at 6 years/$100 million over Trout at 12 years/$430 million.

Even with how good Trout is, the last 4-5 years of that contract will likely suck for the Angels.

I tend to agree.

As players only, Trout. Whole picture, I don't think either side takes the deal if offered. Both guys mean too much to their franchises right now.

Since we’re talking MVP... here’s my take:

The voters need to recognize that the MVP is none other than AstroBaw. He bitched and moaned nonstop until Luhnow finally gave in and called up Alvarez. Without Alvarez in the lineup, neither Bregman or Yuli have nearly as big a season as they are having. Alvarez is truly the most valuable player in the Astros lineup.
