Impeachment Doesn't Make Sense When Pelosi Knows She Can't Get A Conviction In The Senate

Unless they have cut some backroom deals that none of us know about and if that didn't happen then why?
I would assume that well over half the country doesn't know it takes the Senate to convict so are they trying to set off some right wing idiots to do something so they can really push gun control?
Just trying to understand the angle here because there has to be a reason. Meddling in the election is a pretty easy guess as well but where is the fun in that.

It fuels the Q theory stuff. He is over the target of exposing things and they are pulling out all the stops. What else makes sense? I guess the Supreme Court theory. They can’t be that stupid can they?

As a Democrat, I really don't understand our plan here. These witch hunts along with an unelectable Warren are about to bite us in the arse and we're going to see another 4 more years of Trump.

For now, they are throwing darts, hoping something turns up that would force the Senate to convict him.
Thus, they want an investigation whereby they hope to get access to everything possible, maybe even Grand Jury testimony from Mueller. They will try everything. It is indeed a witch hunt. The old, show me a person and I'll find the crime thing.
They are playing Russian Roulette.

Tell that to the House Republicans from 1998. Impeachment proceedings cost them the Presidency and House.
It will cost the Democrats the same in 2020.
The American people can take only so much blatant political horseshite, and impeachment hearings without substance are apparently the line.

They also had the Senate. Even if they didn't get the request votes there, if they could get a majority it would have kneecapped him politically (or so they thought).
